03-21-1917 Isabella Fraser, Widow of the late William Fraser, of Dundee PQ, died
at Fort Covington New York, aged 88 years. On the evening of the 17th, she fell
down the seller stairs, breaking a hip bone. As a result of the injury and shock
she died 03 days later. Interred at Dundee Cemetery.
03-22-1917 Jessie Lawrence, wife of Henry Lawrence, died at Valleyfield PQ.
03-21-1917 Robert Austin Cunningham, died of wound's received in France, aged 23
years. (Obituary in Huntingdon paper) early in March a message was received by
his mother, that her son Austin had been wounded. Soon afterwards a second
message came that he was seriously ill, followed by a third that he had died, in
the hospital at Etaples France. Austin's father, Alexander S. Cunningham, lived
on a farm at the rear of this village, and for several years was a member of
Godmanchester council, and served more than one term as mayor. Austin, whose
death has come as such an affliction to his widowed mother and her family, was
in his twenty third year. He was among the first to enlist on war being declared
and went overseas with the first contingent in the Royal highlanders. He was a
plasteror by trade and his comrades testify to his many good qualities.

04-09-1917 lieutenant Francis Macnider Shirriff, youngest son of David Shirriff,
of Brandon MB, and grandson of the late Dr. F. W. Shirriff, of Huntingdon PQ,
was killed in France, age 22 years.
04-10-1917 James Donaldson McClintock, second a son of Mr. James McClintock, of
Ormstown PQ, was killed in France, age 34 years. He received his education at
Ormstown academy, leaving home when 18 to enter Greenshields, Ltd., Montreal PQ,
where he worked for five years. In 1907 he went to MB, and engaged with Sobart
Dry Goods, of Winnipeg MB, later becoming salesman for the Canadian Converters
Co. Ltd.. On war being declared he enlisted as a private in the 27th battalion,
leaving for England on May 15, 1915. Last April he was awarded a commission as
lieutenant in the field, as a reward for bravery under fire at St.Eloi. A year
later on April 10, ward came he had been killed in action. He belonged to the
order of free Masons, one of his brothers, William W., is now at Whitley Camp,
Surry, England, in training.
