02-08-1928 George Brand Edwards, third son of the late Capt. John Edwards and
Jean Brand Edwards. Died at Keithburn, Covey Hill PQ, age 93 years. Funeral
Friday at 130 p.m., to Russeltown Cemetery. Born at Covey Hill PQ, July 27,
1835. His parents belong to Dundee, Scotland. Mr. Edwards was twice married, his
first wife, Margaret McDiarmid, who died in 1870, being the mother of two
daughters and one son. The two daughters are living at home, but the son, a
promising youth of 16, was drowned many years ago. His second wife, Mary Broad,
died in 1890. He is survived by two daughters, Misses Jean B., and Mary S.
Edwards, of Covey Hill, one son, Harry P. Edwards of Vergennes, VT, and one
grandson, C. B. Edwards, of Covey Hill PQ. He also leaves a brother, Tay Edwards
of Covey Hill.
02-08-1928 Mrs. James McCaffrey, of Fort Covington New York, Widow of James
McCaffrey, who predeceased her 15 years ago, died at St. Agnes de Dundee PQ, at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Riley. The remains were taking to St. Agnes Roman
Catholic Church, where a solemn high mass was sung by Rev. father Langlois.
Interred in St Agnes Cemetery beside the remains of her husband. She leaves to
mourn her loss, one daughter, Miss Kathleen McCaffrey of Montreal,
Edward,(merchant), and Leon, collector of Customs at Ste Agnes, Harold,
collector of Customs at Athelstan, Mrs James Riley was a sister of Mrs McCaffrey
and Hon. George J.Moore of Malone,NY was a nephew.

03-23-1928 Thomas Henderson, it is with feelings of deep regret that word of the
death of Mr. Thomas Henderson, a resident of the Gore for over 62 years, who
died at his home, in Grand Forks, British Columbia on Friday. Deceased was in
his 78 year. He had been in failing health for some time, and had been confined
to bed for three weeks previous to his death. He leaves to mourn his loss his
wife, formerly Miss Mary Armstrong, two daughters and five sons. The daughters
are Mrs. Eddie Graham, of Grand Forks B.C., Mrs. Charles Gray, of California.
The sons are George of Aberdeen Washington, Herbie and Kenneth, of Grand Forks
B.C., Wallace of Anyox, and Wilbie of New Mexico. Much sympathy is extended to
the bereaved. (His age 77 years 07 months)

born in the vicinity of St Etienne in the County of Beauharnois, 78 years ago,
at an early age he moved with his parents to New Erin, where he resided until 25
years ago when he moved to Huntingdon with his wife, the late Mary Jane Kelly
who predeceased him eighteen years ago. He is survived by two sons, Willard and
William, and one daughter Mrs. Amos McCaffrey, also one sister survives, Mrs.
Catherine Feeny. Funeral from his late residence at Wellington Street to St.
Joseph's Church, where the mass was sung by his nephew, Rev. John Durnin of

his wife, Sarah Rennick, of Elgin Township, died at her home on Lake
Street,Huntingdon PQ, age 79 years.03 days.the deceased was the youngest of the
family and spent many years of her life in tender loving care for those who
predeceased her, the last one being her brother Frank, after whose death she
disposed of the old homestead and came to live in Huntingdon. Funeral was held
from her late residence to the Huntingdon United Church, where she had long been
a member. The service was conducted by her own minister, Rev. J. I. Hughes,
assisted by Rev. J.B.Maclean, D.D. of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, and she
was laid to rest in the family plot beside her loved ones.

Grandview, Vancouver B.C.. Mr. Gordon was born at Russeltown PQ, on Jan. 14,
1863, the youngest son of the late Charles Gordon and Anne Edwards. The Mr.
Gordon was twice married, his first wife died in 1904, leaving four
children,Julius G.in Seattle, Charles G.,Christian Louise and James T. at home.
In 1906 he married Louisa Cram, from this union, besides his widow, survive two
children, William C., and Emma Jean. There also survived two brothers and two
sisters, Julius G. of Vancouver, J. Keith of Fort Lauderdale Florida, Mrs.
George Fiddes of Alameda CA, and Mrs. J. G. McFee of Seattle Washington. Mr.

Sept. 04, by Rev. Marshall W. Hoyt, pastor of the Methodist Church. Interred in
Colfax Cemetery. The Scriver was born in Muskoka, Ont. on February 16th, 1882.
For 25 years Miss Scriver was a teacher in Huron County schools. And taught in
Bay Port and Harbor Beach. Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Charles Scriver and
her brother, William, both of Bad Axe Michigan.

Vancouver BC, he survived his brother Charles by only a few weeks. Mr. Gordon
was born in Russeltown, PQ, 78 years ago. In early life he went to North Dakota
with his brothers and there engaged in extensive farming operations with great
success for some years. He resided in Vancouver for the past nineteen years. He
is survived by his widow, to whom he had been married for 51 years. One brother,
Mr. J. Keith Gordon, of Fort Lauderdale Florida, and two sisters, Mrs. Fiddes of
Alameda CA, and Mrs. Jade G. McFee, of Seattle Washington. Mr. Gordon was a

their golden wedding for years ago. He is also survived by his son, Frank J.

Valleyfield PQ, with whom she had lived for 24 years, age 94 years.Mrs. Cameron
was in her 94th year and came to Canada over 80 years ago. She is survived by
Mrs. Fraser of Valleyfield, Mrs. Bradley of Ontario, and three sisters living in
Seattle Washington, she was a native of Inverness Scotland, and to within a few
weeks of her death displayed a remarkable memory of impressions and events on
the voyage from Scotland, together with a clear recollection of those great
pioneer days. In matters of faith and the doctrine, Mrs. Cameron was a staunch
Presbyterian. The funeral service was held at McRae's undertaking parlors, in
Vankleek Hill, the body being placed in the Greenwood vault for interment.
Before leaving Valleyfield Purse were offered at the home of Mrs. Fraser by Rev.
J. G.Greig, United Church minister.

12-22-1928 James B. Gibson, died at Brendon Manitoba, age 97 years. Father of
Mrs. W. J. Burchill. Coming to Canada 95 years ago from Scotland with his
parents. The late Mr. Gibson is survived by his wife, now 91 years. Besides his
widow, the late Mr Gibson is survived by three daughters and five sons, they
are, Mrs. W. J. Burchill, of Brandon, Mrs. William Moore, of Huntingdon W.V,
Mrs. Allen (????) Alameda, H. Porter, of Moose Jaw, Fred D., of Peachland,
George of Alameda, John G. at Weyburn, and Robert L. at Sunburst, Montana.

residence of her granddaughter, Mrs. John Elliott. Aged 108 years. She was born
in County Kerry, Ireland in 1821. She was married to Williams Stowell of St
Anicet PQ, in 1849, there her husband died in 1906, there after she lived with
her son Hugh. She is survived by two sons and two daughters, Daniel, Hugh, and
Esther, Mrs. John Moriarty, of St Anicet, and Elizabeth, Mrs. Jeremiah Casey, of
Bombay New York. Three children, Mary Ann, Alice, and William are deceased. She
also leaves a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, also a sister Mrs.
Lucy, of Malone,N.Y., and a brother Robert O'Connor of Huntingdon PQ. Funeral
