Gray, and niece of Mrs. M. Monahan of Ormstown PQ, died at Montreal PQ, age 20

01-01-1935 Jane Graham, Widow of the late James Henderson, died at the Gore, 
Hinchinbrooke PQ, age 81 years. She was daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. 
William Graham, born on the Gore, Hinchinbrooke PQ, in 1854 where she resided 
all her life. In 1872 she was united in marriage to the late James Henderson who 
predeceased her 49 years ago. Mrs. Henderson leaves to mourn her loss, two 
daughters, Mrs. J. M. Barrington of Montreal, Mrs. Williams Sparrow of New 
Westminister, and three sons, Eldrus of Pennsylvania, Ira of Arron Saskatchewan, 
Fred of the Gore, Hinchinbrooke, two sisters, Mrs. Mayor and Mrs. Johnston of 
New Jersey, and one brother, R Graham of Dewittville P.Q. Funeral on Jan. 02 
from her late residence to the Gore Church , conducted by her rector, Rev. W. S. 
Hatcher. Interred in the Gore Cemetery. Pallbearers were Stanley Anderson, 
Robert Anderson, Ernest Mason, Robert Henderson, J.H. Fitzsimmons and Duncan 
Neely. 
01-02-1935 Thomas Stanley Miller, beloved husband of Roxana H. Bisset, died at 
Huntingdon PQ, funeral service held that United Church. 
12-28-1934 Margaret Muir, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Muir, died at 
Hinchinbrooke PQ, age 85 years. She was one of a family of five sisters and one 
brother, her parents were both born in Argyleshire, Scotland. The only surviving 
member of the family is Mrs. Charles Moe of Ormstown PQ. two other sisters, Mrs. 
Cross, Mrs. Lachlan Cameron, predeceased their sisters, Margaret. Since the 
death of her brother, Archibald some few years ago, Miss. Muir lived alone in 
the old homestead, and as her wish was, there she died. During the declining 
years of life she was tenderly cared for by her niece, Mrs. Stirrat Cameron, 
besides her sister, Mrs.Moe, she is survived by several nieces and nephews.

01-12-1935 John Edward MacGowan, beloved husband of Joanna McDonald, died at 
Mount Royal Victoria Hospital, Montreal PQ. 
(Not dated) George Woolley Sr, died at his home in Cookshire, aged 96 years. The 
late Mr. Woolley was born at Ollerton, Nottinghamshire, England, on September 
03, 1839, and came to Canada in 1863. Mr. Woolley was married on December 02, 
1866, to Sarah Newman of Toronto Ont. To this union were born four sons, and two 
daughters, Harry, of New Denver British Columbia, Walter, of Louisville KY, 
George and William of Cookshire, Carrie, Mrs. F. H.Rivett of Holyoke 
Massachusetts, Olive, Mrs. H. A Worby, of Cookshire, all of whom survived him. 
There are also 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. One sister and one 
brother pre-deceased him many years ago. Mrs. Woolley pre-deceased her husband 
on December 15, 1927. He was a civil war veteran and a Fenian veteran. The 
funeral was held from his late residence to St. Peter's Church, Interred in 
Cookshire Cemetery. 
01-16-1935 Alice Schofield, wife of Douglas Johnson, died at the Royal Edward 
Institute. She leaves to mourn, her husband, her father and little sister Vera, 
to whom she has been as a mother since the mothers death in November 1932. Mrs. 
Johnson passed away in her 21st year. She was married in October 1934. Funeral 
was held Friday from Valleyfield United Church, service conducted by the Rev. J. 
G.Greig 
01-18-1935 Peter A Hurteau, died at his home, 42 South Pearl Street, in Malone 
New York, of pneumonia, age 70 years. He was born in St Anicet PQ, and was 
united in marriage with Miss Amelia Bushey of Malone,N.Y., more than 55 years 
ago. Deceased was a Tanner by trade. Also a member of the independent order of 
Foresters. Surviving are his wife, two daughters, Emma and Mrs. W. H. Taro of 
Malone, one grandson, Claire Taro, two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Hughes, of Utica New 
York, and Mrs. Mary Richardson of Wyman Michigan. Four brothers, Richard and 
Angus, of Santa Clara, Joseph, of Brushton, and Andrew of Newton Falls New York.

Donaldson of Montreal, and one brother, John Lytle of Barrington. He was born in

01-20-1935 Mary Adelaide Hood, Widow of the late Matthew Kee, died at Ormstown 
PQ, age 89 years. Funeral from the Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Walter Ross 
officiated. The deceased was born in the first concession of Ormstown, where her 
parents, Thomas Hood and Marjery Brown settled in 1827, having come from 
Scotland. Those who remain to mourn her loss are one son, Dr. F. W. Kee, of 
Sheldon Illinois, three daughters, Mrs. A.E.Atwood, of Ottawa Ont., Miss Alice 
Kee, of Montreal, Mrs. William Oliver of Saskatoon SK, seven grandchildren and 
three great-grandchildren. A brother Thomas Hood, of Valleyfield and a sister, 
Mrs. Thomas Marriotte of Valleyfield. A son Thomas D. Kee a Los Angeles CA 
pre-deceased her in 1927. 
01-28-1935 Mrs. William Kingsbury, died at Hemmingford PQ, age 74 years. 
01-25-1935 Ethel Ida Miller, wife of Stanley D. Murdoch, died at Syracuse New 
York, age 33 years. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Miller of Dundee 
Center PQ, and Stanley Murdoch is a son of Mr. William Murdoch of Kensington. 
Since their married, Mr. and Mrs. Murdoch have resided in New York State. At the 
time of Mrs. Murdoch's death they were living in Janesville New York, where Mr. 
and Mrs. Arthur Miller and sons now reside. She is survived by her husband and 
two children, a girl, 06 years, and an infant son, born Dec. 30, 1934. 
01-27-1935 Regina Leger, wife of Joseph Rufiange, died at Valleyfield PQ. 
01-08-1935 Abraham Sadler, second son of the late Abraham Sadler of Ormstown PQ, 
died at the home of Mr Richard Lenders, of Fieldbrook, California, age 73 years. 
Mr. Sadler was born and brought up near Ormstown on the River Outarde Road. At 
the age of 22 he went to California where he became a widely known dairyman. He 
leaves to mourn his loss one sister, one brother, and several nieces and 
nephews. Funeral services were held from the J.A. Todd funeral home,the Rev. 
Charles P.Hessel officiating. Services were conducted by the Blue Lake Lodge,No 
347 I.O.O.F.. Interred in the Odd Fellows plot at the Blue Lake Cemetery. 
01-17-1935 Pauline Perras, Widow of the late Mr. F.Saint-Marie, died at the home 
of her son, age 98 years 06 months. Interred at St Antoine Abbe PQ. 
01-24-1935 Margaret May Elliott, beloved wife of Philip E. Smith, died at Roxham 
PQ, age 67 years. She was daughter of the late Thomas Elliott and Nancy Adams, 
his wife. Mrs. Smith was born in Roxham on Aug. 29, 1867, at the place where the 
Customs house is now situated. She leaves her husband, two daughters, Ruby, wife 
of Mr. William P. Smith, and Mary, the wife of Mr. R. W.Akester, both of Roxham 
PQ. Also two sisters, Miss Mattie and Miss Annie Elliott, who live the the home 
place. One step brother, James, in California, a sister, Catherine, died in 
1927, and a brother, David, who resided in Island Pond Vermont, pre-deceased her 
by two weeks. Funeral service held at her late residence.

greater part of her life in this vicinity, where she was engaged in the noble 
profession of nursing. A number of years ago, Miss Curry went to Champlain New 
York, to reside with her nieces, Miss Sarah and Miss Margaret Simpson, who have 
so lovingly and faithfully cared for her during her declining years. Funeral was 
held from St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, service conducted by the Rev HP 
Maitland, assisted by the Rev. A J.V. Durbin of Champlain New York. Interment 
was made in the family plot in the Hemmingford Cemetery.

Mrs. Hiram Metcalf, of Haverhill MA, and Mrs. Gertrude Beach who resides at the 
family home in Malone New York. Two brothers, H. Y. Spencer, of Syracuse New 
York, and Hiram Spencer who is 86 years old and makes his home at the Beach 
residence in Malone,N.Y. she was united in marriage in 1873, the ceremony taking 
place at Franklin Center PQ. Mr. Beach passed away two years ago. 
01-24-1935 Mrs. Agnes McEwen, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clarence 
Brown, in Boswell IN. She was the daughter of Isabella and Angus McNaughton, in 
1877 she was married to Donald McHugh and went to IN. Her husband pre-deceased 
her in 1924, and a son, Peter, in 1926. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. 
Harley Dean of Crawfordsville, Mrs. George Fleming of West Lafayette, and Mrs. 
Clarence Brown, of Boswell, six grandchildren, one brother, Angus McNaughton, 
one sister, Bella McNaughton, both of Huntingdon PQ. Funeral service was held at 
the Brown home and at the Freeland Park Church, service conducted by Rev. Peter 
McEwen of Williamsport. Interred in Blue Ridge Cemetery, near Raub.

entire lifetime. He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Welch, one daughter, 
Mrs. Lansing Post, and one son, Dr. John E. Abbott, another daughter Clementine, 
predeceased him in 1909. Four grandchildren of Mrs. Lansing Post also survive. 
Funeral was held at the Franklin Center United Church.

Andrew's Church when the body arrives. She was second daughter of the late Mr. 
in Mrs. Lester Oney, for many years a resident of Huntingdon. She was united in 
marriage with Richard Hastie, who for 42 years was a member of the Gleaner 
staff. And who predeceased her 14 years ago. She leaves to mourn, two daughters, 
Mrs. Dr. Robert Elder of Vancouver, and Mrs. Roy Clement of Cumberland B.C. also 
one son Mr. Addison Hastie. Interred in Huntingdon PQ.

died at San Francisco CA, age 87 years 09 months. He was a native of Hemmingford 
PQ. He leaves to mourn, one son, John, and two daughters, Mrs. Maude Fontana and 
Mrs. Jesse Honeyman, also eight grandchildren and one great grandchild, 
02-27-1935 Annie Savage, widow of the late James Demers, died at Westville New 
York, she was born in St. Agnes PQ, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Savage. Surviving 
are two daughters, and two sons, Mrs. Jesse Demers of Watertown New York, Mrs. 
Florence Demers of Westville New York, David of Newton Falls New York, and 
Clarence of Massena New York. Also five grandchildren and one great grandchild 
survive. 
02-25-1935 John N. Dennis, died at the home of Mrs. Elsie Hogle, in Perrys 
Mills. Age 85 years. He was born in Hemmingford PQ, but spent most of his adult 
life in Omaha Nebraska where he had been in the employ of one firm for a period 
of 43 years. He was the son of the late Mr. in Mrs. Louis Dennis and was born in 
Hemmingford on January 08, 1850. Some years later he moved to Vermont where he 
was married. On the death of his first wife he went to Omaha, and married again, 
and remained in the Western City for more than 50 years until his second wife 
passed away. He then came to Perrys Mills to make his home with his sister, Mrs. 
George Clark, and following her death in 1932, boarded at the home of Mrs. 
Hogle. Funeral services were held at Perry's Mills M. E. Church.

LaGuerre PQ. She was born at LaGuerre in the year 1858, and moved with her 
parents to Huntingdon 43 years ago where she has resided ever since. She leaves 
to mourn, one sister, Mrs. William C. Hunter of Huntingdon, one nephew, George 
L. Bly of Kensington PQ, and one niece, Mrs. William G. Arthur of Lac Vert, 
Saskatchewan, two brothers, James and John predeceased her some years ago.

03-05-1935 Thomas McCracken, died at Malone New York, age 75 years. Funeral from 
the home of his son, C. H. MacCracken, 75 Park Street Malone New York. He is 
survived by one sister, Hannah, his son, C. H. MacCracken, and wife and 
granddaughter Jean. Mr. McCracken was born August 16, 1860 in Huntingdon PQ, son 
of Henry and Sarah MacCracken, Pioneer settlers. His boyhood days were spent in 
Boston MA and the Canadian Northwest. Thirty nine years ago he was united in 
marriage with Miss Lillie Crawford of Chateauguay. He leaves to mourn, one son, 
and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harry McCracken of Malone,N.Y., one 
granddaughter, Jeannie, of Malone, one sister, Miss Hannah MacCracken of 
Montreal, and several nieces in Chateauguay, Rome, Huntingdon and Lachute PQ. 
Mrs. McCracken died five years ago.

02-17-1935 George R. Clark, died at the home of his son, Goldie Clark, after a 
short illness, aged 76 years. Mr. Clark was born at La Porte IA, in August 1859, 
but made his home in Roxham PQ. Mr. Clark's first wife was formerly Miss Nellie 
Peacock, two whom were born four children, Irene, Mrs. Herbert Keddy, of 
Hemmingford, Nina, Mrs. Fiddes of Havelock PQ, Gladys, Mrs. Leslie Edgerton, of 
Montreal, and Goldie Clark of Perrys Mills, New York. Following the death of his 
first wife, the deceased was united in marriage to Mrs. Margaret Tennyson about 
six years ago, she predeceased him in 1932. Funeral service was held at the in 
the Church conducted by Rev. R. Fillmore, the late Mr. Clark was laid to rest in 
the family plot in the Roxham Cemetery, officiating was Rev. J G. Fulcher at the 
grave.

04-29-1935 Mr. W. Henry Cairns, after a long illness, died at Hemmingford PQ, 
age 89 years. He leaves to mourn, his widow, (nee Amelia Sartwell), one son, 
Morrison, and two daughters, Bessie, a missionary at Kongmoon, south China, and 
Catherine, Mrs. William McEwan of Ormstown PQ, also three grandchildren, one 
daughter, Christina, died in 1911. Mr. Cairns was a son of the late Henry Cairns 
and one of a family of 13 children, having six brothers and six sisters. Of 
these one sister, Mrs. George Cairns of Ormstown, and two brothers, Richard and 
Joshua of California, survive. Funeral service was conducted by the Rev. J. G. 
Fulcher, and Interred in the family plot in the local Cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. 
Cairns were married 52 years ago last November. He has a military career, having 
been associative with the 50th and 51st battalion.

PQ 79 years ago and spent his life here until 15 years ago when he moved to 
Franklin where he died. He was perhaps the eldest surviving member of the 
Franklin Center Congregational Church. He is survived by his widow, Amanda Cain, 
one daughter, Mrs. John Earle, and a son, W. G. Trainor of Earlville, New York, 
and a son, Oscar at home, his eldest daughter, Mrs. Allen Eaton of Chateauguay 
New York, having predeceased him a few years ago. Funeral was held in the

in County Langside, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Coming to this country about 45 
years ago. He was with D. A. Macfarlane Kelso, for a number of years. It 1903 he 
married Mabel Douglass, residing for a time in Elgin Township, later moving to 
Brooklyn NY, he returned to Huntingdon in 1919. He leaves his wife, one son, 
Allen, his daughter, Mrs. Allen F. Pierce, also a sister, Mrs. Annie Morrison, 
of Powell River, British Columbia. Funeral service held from his home to St. 
Andrew's Presbyterian Church on Sunday afternoon, service being conducted by 
Rev. J.B.Maclean. 
(Not dated) John F. Moore, passed away recently at Sioux Falls, South Dakota, 
age 81 years. He was born at Boyd Settlement, Hinchinbrooke PQ, and spent much 
of his youth in this district. He was married to Margaret Moore of Ormstown PQ 
in 1879 and went to Dakota in this spring of that year. Mrs. Moore passed away 
sometime later. His son, Lloyd still occupies the farm. Two sons also 
pre-deceased him. He is survived by Francis E. Moore of Los Angeles CA, William 
J. and Lloyd S. Moore of Coleman, Mrs. A H. Bell a Flandreau, Mrs. H. C. Harvey 
of Sioux Falls, as well as eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A 
sister, Mrs. Will Richardson, living in Strathroy, Ont.. 
(Not dated) Mrs. J. Rollit, died in Montreal PQ, aged 86 years. She was formerly 
Cornelia Ferguson of Buckingham PQ where she was born. The name has been 
identified for more than 100 years with the Anglican Church of that city. Among 
the survivors, a step son, Dr. J. F. Rollit, who for many years had a dentist 
office in Huntingdon, Rev. H. Godard, whose wife is a stepdaughter of the 
deceased will be remembered by many local people. He was Anglican Minister here 
for many years. 
(Not dated) Mrs. T. A. Silvester, wife of the late Thomas Albert Silvester, died 
at the residence of her son in law, Duncan Stewart, 110 Balfour Avenue, Mount 
Royal PQ. Mrs. Silvester's maiden name was Agnes Cunningham, she was in her 81st 
year. She came to Montreal from Motherwell Scotland in 1883. Her husband died 
three years ago. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. John E. Watt of Dewittville 
PQ, Mrs. William V. Christian of Detroit MI, and Mrs. Duncan Stewart of Mount 
Royal PQ. Another daughter, Mrs. Arthur Long, died in 1923. Also a grandson, 
Gerald Long in Dewittville PQ, one brother, John Cummings and two sisters, Mrs.

aged 76 years. He was born at Wegatchi, New York, July 23, 1859. Son of James 
and Helen Bidwell McIntosh. He married Florence Moir May 02, 1883 at the 
Presbyterian Church in Huntingdon PQ, later moving to Ogdensburg where they made 
their home. Professor McIntosh was known in musical circles throughout the 
state. Surviving him becides his wife are a son, Osmer B McIntosh of Syracuse 
New York. And the following grandchildren, Charles E. Howard, student at the 
University of Alabama, Nancy Howard of Syracuse, William and Bruce McIntosh of

05-19-1935 Helen Margaret Wilson, died in Berkeley California, aged 75 years.She 
died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Blanche Ellsworth, she was formerly Helen 
M. Anderson, born at Trout River PQ, Feb. 06,1860, daughter of Arthur and Helen 
Anderson. She was the sister of the late Alexander Anderson of Trout River and 
the late Robert Anderson of Venice CA. She resided at Trout River until after 
the death of her father, Arthur Anderson, in 1893. After going west to Utah, to 
join her brother, Robert, who had left Trout River some years before. In 1901 
she married Lincoln J. Wilson of Des Moines IA. To this marriage one child was 
born, Blanche Wilson, now a teacher in the state college of San Francisco CA in 
1924 on her last trip to Trout River, she he erected a tombstone in the Elgin 
Cemetery in memory of her parents, Helen Wattie, who died in 1886, and Arthur 
Anderson who died in 1893. She is survived by one daughter, Blanche, and by a 
granddaughter, Shirley Annie Ellsworth, both of Berkeley California, her 
sister-in-law, Mrs. Mary Anderson, lives at Trout River.

40 years. He was born in Dundee PQ in 1895, a son of Michael and Mary Dinneen 
Meade. Mr. Meade is survived by two brothers, Mrs. DJ McKenna of Westville, with 
whom he resided, and Mrs. Mary Pinard, of Lowell MA, Miss Genevieve Meade, of 
New York, Miss Ellen Meade, of Lowell MA, and Annie, who is in the West. He also 
leaves four nieces and one nephew. Funeral services was held in St. Bridget's 
Church, Trout River, Interred in Fort Covington New York.

Fort Covington, whose death occurred 28 years ago. About 21 years ago he was 
united in marriage with Miss Eva Forbes of Massena New York, who survived him,

age 60 years. In 1903 he was united in marriage with Mabel Wood of Elgin 
Township. He is survived by his widow, and three brothers, Lorenzo of 
Powerscourt, Arthur of Huntingdon and Alexander of Saranac New York. Funeral 
service was held in the United Church at Powerscourt, service conducted by Rev.

08-31-1935 Mrs. Mary A Martin, widow of the late George E. Rice, died at her 
home in Huntingdon PQ, aged 84 years. She was born in Huntingdon and spent her 
early years in this vicinity, left a widow at an early age she moved to Chicago 
IL where she resided for 25 years, later residing in Flint MI. In 1927 she 
returned to Huntingdon to spend the remaining years of her life. She is survived 
by her daughter, Gretta, and two brothers, James B. Martin, of Flint,and John I 
Martin of Chicago IL. 
08-30-1935 Mrs. Charles Hyde, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Norman 
Stark, of a heart attack, age 71 years. She was the daughter of the late George 
Elder and Catherine Munro. She is survived by her husband and two sons, Ernest 
McCaig of Jacksonville WI, and Charles of Huntingdon, besides for daughters, 
Mrs. Earle Fulford, Mrs. Wesley Hines, Mrs. Norman Stark of Shawville, and Mrs. 
Sarah Ann Boyd of Huntingdon. She is a sister of the late Colonial J. M. Elder 
of Montreal and an aunt of Dr. Herbert Elder, and Aubrey Huntingdon Elder, K.C. 
of Montreal. The remains were brought to Huntingdon and funeral services were 
held from St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, the service conducted by the Rev.

Center PQ, aged 30 years. 
10-11-1935 John McKeegan, youngest son of the late John McKeegan and Mary 
McMullen, and brother of James McKeegan of Ormstown PQ, died at Mountain Home, 
Idaho. Age 70 years. Funeral services was held in Saint Mary's Roman Catholic 
Church, Interred in the family plot in Mountain Home. He was born in Ormstown 
PQ, on May 24, 1865. He leaves to mourn his loss, his widow,two sons, John and 
James at home, Beatrice, Mrs. T. Holm, of Coldwell Idaho, and Katherine of 
Seattle Washington. Three grandchildren, two sisters who predeceased him, the 
late Mrs. Peter Cavanaugh and Mrs. Edward Sadler.

10-18-1935 Catherine MacKenzie, youngest daughter of the late Ewen and Catherine 
McIntyre. Age 91 years. She was born July 11, 1845 on a farm in the Newfoundout 
settlement. In 1868 she married Andrew MacKenzie, surviving are four daughters, 
two died in childhood and are buried in the LaGuerre Church Cemetery. Mr. 
MacKenzie.in 1910. She spent time with her daughter, Minnie, Mrs. J. D. MacPhee, 
of Red Hook, New York , also with her youngest daughter, Hazel, Mrs. E. J. 
Kennedy, 3281 West 3rd Avenue, Vancouver BC. Two grandchildren also survive, 
Jack and Sheila Kennedy. Burial was in the family plot in Okanagan Falls. 
10-27-1935 Mrs. John Clark, (nee Amanda Merit), Widow of the late John Clark, 
died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alexander Walsh, (Olive), who resides in 
Verdun PQ. She was mother of a family of eight children, one dying in infancy. 
Surviving her are three daughters, and four sons, namely, (Olive) Mrs. Alexander 
Walsh, Pearl, Mrs. Hugh McNicol, Mabel, Mrs. Walter Donnelly, George, Earl, John

Tullochgorum, Howick PQ, the son of the late John Robertson and grandson of the 
late Robert Ness Sr.. He was a graduate of Huntingdon academy and of McGill 
University. Surviving are his widow, formerly Ness Lillian Beamis of Milwaukee,

years. He was son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Archibald Cameron, born Sept. 16,

Neely and to this union one son Leslie was born. He leaves to mourn, his wife 
and son Leslie, one brother, Rev. Hugh Cameron, DD of Ottawa, and three sisters, 
Mrs. Fleming of Dundee, Mrs. Muir and Mrs. McNaughton of Huntingdon. Funeral

Franklin Center PQ, died at his late residence, in Burlington VT, aged 81 years.

11-15-1935 Robert B. Greenway, brother of Mrs. A M.Parmeter, died at Greensboro 
Bend VT, age 57 years. 
11-30-1935 Rev. Christopher A Haughton, B.A., pastor of Zion United Church in 
Dundee PQ, died at his late residence, the Manse, Dundee PQ . Interred at Ottawa 
Ont.. The death of Rev. Christopher A Haughton at Dundee early Saturday morning 
removes from the district one of its best and loved clergyman here having held 
charges at Russeltown, Hemmingford, Dundee, and former principal of Ormstown 
academy, he had hundreds of friends who will mourn his loss along with members 
of his family, and his two congregations, Zion United, and Dundee and Calvin 
United in LaGuerre. Born of Irish parents in Liverpool England, he came to 
Canada when a boy of twelve years of age, and through his own personal efforts, 
inspired by high motives, he triumphed over many difficulties. He was a graduate 
of Queens University, receiving a bachelor of arts degree, following his 
ordination as a minister of the gospel, he was inducted as minister of the 
Presbyterian Church at Russeltown PQ. Leaving the ministry for a time he became 
principal of Ormstown academy, and later of Longueuil high school. Again 
returning to his chosen professional work, he became pastor of the Presbyterian 
Church in Bristol PQ. On January the 5th 1926, he was inducted into Zion United 
Church, Dundee and Calvin United Church in LaGuerre. 
12-02-1935 Jean Muir, wife of the late Joseph O. Kelly, died at Huntingdon PQ, 
aged 82 years. Funeral from St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. She was the 
daughter of the late Matthew Muir of Hinchinbrooke and of his wife Agnes 
MacNaughton, who were both natives of Scotland. She was born on February 3rd, 
1854, in 1879, she was married by Rev. Dr. James Watson to Joseph O. Kelly. Mr. 
Kelly died in 1930. There were six children born, three sons and three 
daughters. The first son, Frederick Robert, died in infancy in 1881 in his 
second year. The second son, Austin, succeeded his father on the homestead, and 
the third son, Wilfred occupies the adjacent farm. The daughters are Laura, Mrs. 
Ralph Yates of Vancouver BC, Jean, Mrs. James McBride of Cranbrook BC, and 
Marion, Mrs. L. W. Lowe of Montreal PQ.

Street,Oneonta, New York, aged 85 years. She she was born August 19, 1850, the 
daughter of Harvey and Hulda Barnes. She was married Christmas day in the year 
nineteen hundred by Rev. Lorenzo Greene. Surviving are a step daughter, Mrs. 
Mabel, Thompson of Athelstan PQ, a niece, Mrs. Edith Wayman of Simpson PA, a 
nephew, Merton Barnes of Washington D.C., and two cousins, Mrs. W. L. Sloat, and 
Mrs. Hattie Burgess of Oneonta New York. 
12-07-1935 Roy Albert Tupper, world war veteran and mail carrier, died at his 
home in DeKalb Junction New York, age 42 years. He was born at DeKalb Junction 
Sept. 24, 1893, son of Frederick and Pauline Huntress Tupper, spending his 
entire life in the village. October 14, 1920, he was married to Leta Swan. 
Surviving are his widow, his mother, Pauline Tupper, two brothers, Lyle of 
DeKalb Junction, and Stillman of Ogdensburg New York. A sister, Mrs. Floyd Ruger 
of Ormstown and three nieces, Colleen, Helen and Beverly Ruger of Ormstown PQ. 
The Masons were in charge of the funeral. 
(Not dated) Mary Gillespie, Widow of Rev. James Henderson, DD, who was twice 
pastor of St. James United Church in Montreal, died at her late residence, 651 
Grosvenor Avenue, Montreal PQ, age 95 years. She was the daughter of the late 
James Gillespie, being born at Little River, near PQ city, in 1840. She first 
married Peter LeRossignol, who died in 1874. In 1876 she married Dr. Henderson. 
Surviving are three daughters, Miss. A E. LeRossignol and Mrs. A .O. Dawson, of 
Westmount, and Mrs. J. Henderson's Scott, of Guilford England, two sons, Dean J. 
E.LeRossignol of the University of Nebraska, and Dr. W. J. LeRossignol of Denver 
CO, two sisters, Mrs. C.B. Ramsey and Mrs. Robert Neil of PQ, and one brother, 
George A. S. Gillespie of Ottawa. Funeral services from the late residence.
