12-23-1935 Alexander Blain, of 54 Evanson Street, Winnipeg MB, died at Grace
Hospital, in Winnipeg MB, age 78 years. He was a retired farmer of the Wawanesa
district of Manitoba. Surviving members of his family are his widow, and a son
Fred. Mrs. Art Campbell of Ormstown is a cousin. Funeral services were held at
the A B. Gardner Funeral Chapel, with Rev. H. B. Duckworth officiating. Interred
in a family plot at Elmwood Cemetery, Winnipeg.
01-15-1936 Sarah Murphy, beloved wife of the late Richard McCaffrey, died at
Ormstown PQ, age 77 years. Funeral services at St. Malachie Church in Ormstown
PQ, Interred at Huntingdon PQ.
01-12-1936 Eliza Jane McGerrigle, died at Lower Ormstown, aged 79 years.
01-10-1936 Janet Bothwell, beloved wife of F. C. Moore, died at Valleyfield PQ,
age 68 years. She was born in Ormstown PQ on July 24, 1867. Surviving relatives
are her husband, and her four daughters. Mrs. C. F. Mills of Malone New York,
Mr. and Mrs. James Isherwood of Hartford Connecticut, Miss. Annie Moore of
Valleyfield, Mrs. J. T. Bartlett, Mr. Malcolm Mills, of Malone New York. Mr.
Victor Bartlett, of Lachine PQ. She also leaves behind two sisters, Mrs. Ann
McIntosh of Ottawa Ont., Mrs. Belle Stevenson of Detroit MI, one brother, Robert
Bothwell of Ogdensburg New York, and five grandchildren, services were held in
the Presbyterian Church in Ormstown PQ , by the Rev. Mr. Kerr.

01-16-1936 Helen Ida Priestland, beloved wife of George W. Henderson, died at
Chateauguay Heights PQ, aged 53 years.
01-19-1936 Joseph Laberge, formerly of Athelstan PQ, died at Valleyfield PQ,
aged 77 years. Interred in the Huntingdon Catholic Cemetery. He was born in
Athelstan PQ, son of the late Marguerite Lefebvre and Berthelemi Laberge, he has
two brothers, Moise of Huntingdon and William of Worcester MA. Funeral was held
from the home of his brother, to St. Joseph's Church
01-19-1936 Janet Gilbert, Widow of the late Samuel Lamb, died at her home in
Franklin Center PQ, aged 75 years. She was the daughter of the late James
Gilbert and his wife Agnes Muir, of Dewittville PQ, she was predeceased eighteen
years ago by her husband, and is survived by three sons, James G., Edwin and
Clifford, and two daughters, Agnes, Mrs. Truman of Noyan PQ, and Margaret, Mrs.
William Sutton of Covey Hill PQ, also 16 grandchildren. Funeral was held at
Christ Church, service conducted by her pastor, Rev. W. C. Payne, and Interred
in the Anglican Cemetery.
01-13-1936 Gertrude McGinnis, beloved wife of Dr. Patrick George McGill, died
suddenly at her residence, 1707 21st Street, Superior Wisconsin.
01-14-1936 Mrs. Richard McCaffrey, died at her home, in Ormstown PQ, following a
severe stroke. Aged 77 years. She was born on the Island at Ormstown, the eldest
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Murphy, she was married in 1884 to
Richard McCaffrey of Huntingdon PQ. After Mr. McCaffrey's death four years ago,
she came to make her home in Ormstown. She leaves to mourn, one daughter, Mrs.
Frank Smith of Ormstown, and six sons, Richard of Lifton Saskatchewan, Frederick
of Huntingdon, William, Edward, Amos, and Philip of Ormstown. One sister, Miss
Maria Murphy, and five brothers, William, John, Frederick, George, and Amos
Murphy, all of Ormstown. Funeral at St. Joseph's Church in Huntingdon, by Rev.

predeceased her nineteen years ago last December. She resided with her sister,
Miss Jennie Stacy for the past 10 years. She is survived by two sons, Mr. Henry
Kelley of Binghamton New York, and Mr. Walford Kelley of Clairmont KY. Two
sisters, Miss Jennie Stacy, and Mrs. Richard Stringer of Toronto Ont., a
brother, David Stacy of St. Chrysostome PQ, and several nieces and nephews. She
was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Covey Hill PQ. Funeral services from
her home to the Presbyterian Church in Covey Hill PQ, by her pastor, Rev. H. P.
Maitland of Spencerville Ont. conducting the service.

York, aged 67 years. Interred at Brockville.Ont. She was mother of Mrs. L. R.
Smellie of Trout River. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Smellie of Trout
River, and several other children. Her husband died about a year ago.

01-31-1936 Miss. Margaret E. Brady, died at her home in Trout River PQ, aged 66
years. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Brady, who’s home was
at Beaver, but she had lived in Trout River during nearly her entire life. She
was an organist at St. Bridget's Church for many years. She is survived ,by one
sister, Miss Catherine Brady of Trout River, two brothers, Charles P. Brady of
Trout River, and William Brady of Lancaster Ont., Besides several nieces and
nephews. Funeral service held from St. Bridget's Church.

suddenly at Windsor Ont., aged 78 years.
02-02-1936 Wilfred Rabidoux, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Rabideaux, died at the
Sacred Heart Hospital, Cartierville, aged 34 years. He was the son of Mr. and
Mrs. George Rabideau, formerly of Dewittville, now of Bellerieve. Besides his
parents he leaves to mourn, three brothers, Charles of Montreal, Georgia and
William of Bellerieve, and three sisters, Mrs. Alford Rabideau of Dewittville,
Mrs. Peter Monique, of Huntingdon and Miss Grace of Montreal, four nieces and

01-15-1936 George A Rember, died at his home in Hailey Idaho, aged 46 years, son
of Mr. and Mrs. William Rember. He is survived, by his widow, Mrs. Alice Watson
Rember, whom he married in Hailey on Nov. 04, 1914, one daughter, Doris, three
sons, Grant, Craig and Robert, also his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Rember and
four brothers. George Rember was a nephew of Mrs. Art J. McNeil and Alexander
Rember of Ormstown PQ. William Rember, father of the deceased was a former
resident of Ormstown, and for the past 57 years has resided in Hailey Idaho.
02-01-1936 Mary Jane Derouchie, widow of the late Levi Rouselle, died at Fort
Covington New York, aged 74 years. She was born on this side of the border, a
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Derouchie, she was united in marriage
with Levi about 53 years ago. Surviving are her husband, five children, W. J.
Rouselle, of Fort Covington, Amos Rouselle, of Fort Covington, Mrs. A M.Capiello
of Fort Covington, Miss Maud Rouselle of Canton,Ohio, and Miss Florence Rouselle
of Brooklyn, two brothers, John Derouchie, of Malone,N.Y., and Benjamin
Derouchie of Fort Covington, a sister, Mrs. Peter Derouchie of Fort Covington,

02-28-1936 Carmen McCarthy, beloved wife of Dr. Stephen Mahady, formerly of Fort
Covington New York, died at Utica New York, age 38 years.
02-26-1936 Albert McEdward, died at Huntingdon PQ, age 73 years. His brother,
Alexander, died last June. They were the last of a large family, there
grandfather, William McEdward, being one of the pioneers of Huntingdon County,
having settled at LaGuerre about 100 years ago. Burial took place in the family
plot at LaGuerre.
02-27-1936 William Ness, M. D., husband of Beatrice Phaneuf, died at at his late
residence, 222 Metcalf Avenue, Westmount PQ, age 59 years.
03-03-1936 Eli Ricard, died at Huntingdon PQ, age 89 in years.
02-12-1936 Andrew William Fee, died at his late residence in Mooers New York. He
was born in Ormstown PQ on Sept. 15, 1857. Residing in Canada until 21 years of
age, then moving to Lyon Mountain New York, where he later became a U.S.
citizen. On Sept. 13, 1882, he was the united in marriage to Isidora Fairbanks,
who survives him, together with four daughters, Kate H., of Collingswood New
Jersey, Constance E., of Beacon New York, Edith D., and Marion W., of Mooers New
York, and two sons, Kenneth F., of Albany New York, and Neil W. of Mooers New
York. He is also survived, by one grandson, N. Richard, and a sister, Charlotte
J., both of Mooers New York. Funeral conducted from the residence, by his
pastor, Rev. C.R. Sumner.
03-04-1936 Annie Thompson, Widow of the late George F. Carr, died at her
residence, aged to 71 years 02 months. Death resulted from a paralyzing stroke.
The deceased was the youngest daughter of the late Alexander Thompson and his
late wife, Dorothy Craik. She was born in Elgin and spent her entire lifetime
there. Her husband, passed away July 11, 1930. Funeral services in the
Powerscourt United Church, service conducted by the Rev. J.A. Woodside.
03-02-1936 Walter Theodore Harkness, died at the home of his son,Mr. and Mrs.
Walter Harkness Jr., of 2581 Albert Street, Montreal PQ, son of the late Mr. and
Mrs. Thomas Harkness of Dewittville PQ, and was born Aug. 07, 1864. He was the
last member of a family of six. He was united in marriage with Elizabeth Purse,
eldest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Purse of Dewittville PQ on
November 14, 1892. To this union, six children were born. Evelyn, Mrs. Thomas
Gowdey of Covey Hill PQ, Archie, Dorothy, Mrs. Alpheus Todd of Colburn Ont.,
Donald of Dewittville, Kathleen and Walter of Montreal. Funeral service was held
in Saint Andrews Presbyterian Church, Huntingdon PQ, by the Rev. J.B. MacLean.
Interred in the Huntingdon Protestant Cemetery.

03-08-1936 Antoine Legault (Peter), beloved husband of Amelia Villeneuve, died
at St Anicet PQ, age 78 years. He is survived by his wife,and four daughters,
Minnie, Mrs. Sylvester Duheme, of Glenelm PQ, Ida, Mrs. Harvey Hyde, Malvina,

Dewittville PQ, died at Malone,N.Y., age 77 years. He was born April 18, 1858 in
Dewittville PQ, son of Mitchell and Mary Lapointe Macabee. On October 23rd,
1888, he was united in marriage with Adaline Sossville of Malone,N.Y. who
survives him. Four children, Fred, Bellmont, Lucy and Edward of Malone. John
Macabee, of Bellmont is the only grandchild, a sister and four brothers also
survive. Mrs. Jane Bennett of Herman, Edward, George, all of San Jose
California, and William of Malone.

03-26-1936 James McIntosh Craik, formerly of Franklin PQ, died at Calgary AB,
age 79 years. Funeral taking place at Tees, Alberta, his home. He was the oldest
son of the late John Craik and Serena M. Stacy, his wife, and was born at the
Craik homestead, now the Charles Waller farm, Franklin Township on June 20,
1857. The grandfather of the deceased, William Craig, was a pioneer settler from
Crichton Castle, near Edinburgh Scotland, taking up this farm in 1819. The farm
being occupied untill nineteen hundred when they moved to Alberta. He was a
bachelor living with and taking care of his mother, the late Mrs. James Craik.
The deceased is survived by four brothers, Albert S. of West Superior Wisconsin,
Charles D. of Miami Florida, John B. of Tees Alberta, and the Rev. Galen H.,
pastor of Crystal Springs United Church in Montreal PQ.

born at Howick PQ on January 02, 1845. He was married 65 years ago to Miss Mary
Lore in Forest New York, and where several of their ten children were born.
Before his death he had six children, 55 grandchildren, and 33 great
grandchildren, a total of 94 direct descendants, most of whom resided in Faust.
Four sons and one daughter live at Faust, Antoine Jr., John, William and Charles
Laberge. A daughter, Mrs. E. B. Woods, resides in Kitchener Ont., and one
brother, John in Moore New York.

Harvey of Saranac Lake New York, and four sons, Malcolm of Troy New York, Melvin
of Valleyfield, Roy and Clifford and on the home farm, one son John was killed

Her second husband, Louis Shanty to whom she was united at St. Mary's Rectory in
Fort Covington New York 10 ago, passed away six years later. Serviving are three
sons, John Therrien of Cornwall Ont., Isaac Therrien of Fort Covington New York,
and Ernest Therrien of Dundee PQ, and one daughter, Mrs. John Annette of Tupper

speak several languages, an accomplished pianist and painter. She was united in

daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.Hatton Kennedy and two grandchildren,

12-08-1936 Rev. I H.Lackey, beloved husband of May Farr, died at his residence
in Hemmingford PQ, age 79 years. Mr. Lackey was born in Bell's Corners, Ont., he
was Rector here from 1899 to 1901. After retireing he purchased a home in
Hemmingford. He was married twice. To the first union four sons were born,
Herbert, Victor, Harold, and James. James the only surviving son is residing in
Estevan Saskatchewan, also one brother, Rural Dean Lackey of Estevan
Saskatchewan. In 1920 Rev. Lackey was united in marriage to May Farr, who
survives him. The funeral service from his late residence, by Rev. Mr. Howard.
The cortege proceeded to the Hemmingford Cemetery where burial took place.

residence on the Gore, H.N. Henderson, age 75 years. She was born in Vermont and
came with her mother at the age of five to live in Canada were she spent
practically her whole life, except for 11 years which she spent with her son and
grandson in California. Mrs. Henderson was of kind and thoughtful disposition
and always ready to lend a helping hand. She leaves to mourn, two sons, Harold
in California, and Henry of the Gore, eight grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren. Funeral was held from her late residence on Dec. 17.

(Not Dated) James Howe, died at his home in Culross Township, Ont. age 88 years.
Mr. Howe was born in Howick PQ on February 17, 1849. When nineteen years of age,
deceased went to Teeswater Ont. working for a Mr. David Reid. Then working in
Bellmore and Wingham for some four years, returning to Teeswater in in 1873 and
purchasing the Reid business. He was married in 1877 to Miss Mary McKague, who
passed away in 1909. To this union was born five children. Those left to mourne,
Mrs.William McKenzie and Mrs. Bert Kinloss, Mrs. Ballagh, in Saskatchewan, Mrs.
W. J. and Leslie,Howe, of Culross. Mr. John Howe of Lucknow Ont is a brother.
