of the Holy Names in Montreal Quebec, age 78 years. She was daughter of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Clancy of Hemmingford Quebec. She was an organist, teacher,
and artist. She is survived by a sister, sister Mary Eileen of Albany New York,
and a number of nephews and nieces in Montreal and Ottawa. The funeral was held
from the Mother House on Wednesday.

01-15-1947 Elizabeth S. C. Goundrey, wife of the late Alexander B. MacDonald of
Huntingdon Quebec, died suddenly at Huntingdon Quebec.
01-19-1947 Marjorie Annie MacMaster, wife of the late James MacDonald, died at
Fort Covington New York, in her 86 year. Mr. MacDonald predeceased her in 1906.
She was the daughter of the late Hugh and Eliza Grey, MacMaster. She was born in
Godmanchester Quebec, January 04,1862. She was married to James MacDonald of
Fort Covington New York, formerly of Ste Agnes de Dundee Quebec, at the Zion
Church Manse, November 23, 1887. Since her marriage she has resided at Fort
Covington New York. Seven children were born of this union, four survive, one
son, James, of Mooers New York, three daughters, Emma, of Fort Covington, Mary,
Mrs. Harry McCabe, of Fort Covington, Grace, Mrs. William Fleming, of Dundee
Quebec. Three children predeased her, William in 1942, Hazel in 1918, and Paul
in 1908. There are 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral
services were conducted at her late residence by the Rev. Martin, Interment at
Fort Covington New York on Wednesday January 22nd.
01-05-1947 Dr. S. J. Moffett, beloved husband of the former Marie Baird of
Ormstown Quebec, died at Kelso, Washington, USA, age 77 years.
01-12-1947 Margaret Goldie Calhoun, daughter of William Calhoun and Margaret
Goldie, his wife, and wife of the late Charles Stone of Rockburn Quebec, died at
the Barrie Memorial Hospital in Ormstown Quebec, in her 84th year. Rockburn
sustained the loss of one of the oldest residence of the place as she was born
here and spent most of her life in this neighborhood. As a young woman she went
to Lowell MA, and lived there for some time, returning to Rockburn when she
married Mr. George Volcker, who lived only a few years. Later she married Mr.
Charles Stone and they engaged in running a general store and Garage above 1/2
mile east of Rockburn. Mr. Stone died a few years ago, leaving Mrs. Stone alone
with the business. Mrs. Stone is survived by several nieces and nephews, living
in the eastern United States and California, and one niece, Mrs. Walker nearby
in New York State. Funeral services were held Wednesday in the Rockburn Church
of which she had been a lifelong member, service was conducted by the pastor,
Rev. H. A. Pritchard. Interment was made in Hillside Cemetery.

Lillian and Mildred of 3843 Marcel Avenue, died at the Montreal General
Hospital, in his 63rd year. Interment at Hemmingford Quebec. He was a prominent
figure in the livestock and packing industry. He was born in Hemmingford Quebec,
August 12, 1883, he is survived by his widow, the former Kathleen O'Meara and
two daughters, Lillian Alice and Mary Mildred Brogan.
01-11-1947 Mr. James A. Davidson, formerly of Ste Agnes de Dundee Quebec, died
at his home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma USA, age 86 years. He moved to
Minneapolis MN from his birthplace, Ste Agnes de Dundee Quebec, and joined the
United States Army when he was 19 years of age. Going to Perry Oklahoma in 1893,
and to Oklahoma City and 1894. He is survived by his wife, Zula, one daughter,
Guida, Mrs. George Matthews of Berrien Springs Michigan, and one son, Gordon of
Oklahoma City. Several years ago, the late Mr. Davidson accompanied by his wife,
spent some time visiting with his brother, the late Mr. Gordon Davidson, also
making acquaintances around Dundee. Services were held from the Street and
Draper Funeral Home on January 14, the late Mr. Davidson was a member of the
Seventh-day Adventist Church.

01-24-1947 Fanny McCauig, beloved wife of John MaComb, died suddenly at Havelock
Quebec. She was born at St. Urbain Quebec, about 48 years ago. She had lived at
Russeltown above 15 years ago. She is survived by her husband, one brother, John
in Montreal, four sisters, Mrs. Alex McKay of St. Urbain, Mrs. Campbell, Mrs.
St. Mary, and Miss Emma McCauig, of Montreal, one brother, Fred, died suddenly
four years ago. Funeral services were held at the Edwardstown Anglican Church in
Montreal Quebec, service conducted by Rev. M. Bennett of Hemmingford.
01-27-1947 Janet Stewart, dearly beloved wife of the late Christy Macfarland,
died at her residence, 9 Hazelwood Avenue, Outremont Quebec, in her 89th year.
She was born in Huntingdon County Quebec, and moved to Montreal at an early age.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. William E. Lewis, three sons, Stewart,
Harold and Christy and nine grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday
at the Chapel of Joseph C.Wray and Brother's, 1234 Mountain Street.
01-23-1947 George J. Shearer, beloved husband of Adeline King, died suddenly at
Glenelm Quebec, in his 86 year. He spent his entire life in Elgin Township
Quebec on the home place where his death occurred. He was united in marriage to
Adeline King in 1884, celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on Mar.
04,1944. He leaves to mourn, his wife, four daughters, Annie, Mrs. James
Macfarland, of Glenelm Quebec, Georgia, Mrs. H. C.Bridcut, of Valleyfield,
Elizabeth, of Huntingdon, and Hattie, at home, three sons, Gordon, of Vermilion
Alberta, Jack, of Sion AB, Frank, of Spencer Massachusetts, several
grandchildren. One daughter, Clara, and one son, Arthur, predeceased him several
years ago. Funeral service was held at his late residence, service conducted by
Mr. Wesley Morris, assisted by Rev. T. Knowles of Huntingdon. Interment took
place in the family plot in the Athelstan Cemetery.

Heights Quebec. Mrs. Lee was born in Perth ON and has resided in Chateauguay for
the past 35 years. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. I. W. Gilbert, and
Mrs. E. N. Suckling, both of Chateauguay Heights Quebec, three grandchildren,
Herbert, Donalda and Lee, two great-grandchildren, Kay and Herbert Lee.

survived by one brother, John Holmes of Howick Quebec. Funeral service was held
on Friday at 2 p.m., at Georgetown Church, service conducted by her minister,
Rev. E. Bingham. Interment in Georgetown Cemetery.
01-24-1947 Wilbert Maither, son of the late James and Jean (Struthers) Maither
of Brooklet Quebec, died at the home of his brother-in-law, A M. Shattuck of
Burke New York, in his 77th year. He was born at Brooklet Quebec, on January
16th, 1871, a son of the late James and Jean Struthers Maither. He was a Cheese
maker by trade. He later went to live with his sisters, Anna and Sarah, Mrs.
Shattuck who predeceased him in March 1946. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs.
Georgina Cowan of Burke New York, Mrs. John Alber of Rockburn, and brother,
George Maither, of Ottumwa, Iowa. A brother, Archibald, died in May. 1944.
Funeral services were held at the Shattuck home and the body was placed in the
vault at Chateauguay to await burial in the spring in Hillside Cemetery,
Hinchinbrooke Quebec.
02-07-1947 Angus MacDonald, died at Huntingdon Quebec, in his 76th year.
Interment at Huntingdon Quebec. He was a Plumber by trade. One sister, Mrs.
Goldthorpe, is left to mourn his loss. Funeral services were held in the United
Church in Huntingdon Quebec, service conducted by the Rev. T. Knowles, assisted
by Rev. J. B. McLean. Interment was made in the Huntingdon Protestant Cemetery.
02-12-1947 J. H. Picard, died at St. Stanislaus D.Kosta, Quebec, in his 67th
year. He was a merchant Taylor in business for 47 years, surviving is one son,
Alban, who will carry on the established business.

years. Interred at Huntingdon Quebec.
02-19-1947 Mary Royer, beloved wife of Terence O'Hara, died at Athelstan Quebec,
in her 29th year. Interment at Bury Quebec. The deceased was born at Bury
Quebec, December 14, 1919, she leaves to mourn, her husband, two children, Brian
and Polly, her mother, Mrs. J. Royer, four brothers, Thomas, Clifford A, Cecil
H., and Albert, all of Bury Quebec, also four sisters, Bessie, Mrs. B. Keiper,
Gertrude, Mrs. Walter Snyder, Verna, Mrs. Harrison Moyer, Ruth, Mrs. Nelson
Keiper, all of Pocomo Pines, Pennsylvania, also several nieces and nephews. Her
father, Mr. Joseph Royer, predeceased her several years ago. Funeral services
were held at the home, and a short service conducted by the Rev. R. J. McMillan,
the remains were taken by train on Friday to Bury Quebec, where the funeral
services were held Saturday afternoon, and Interment made in St. Paul's
Cemetery.
02-21-1947 Don Francis Smith, beloved son of Mr. and Mrs. Frances B. Smith,
(Luella McMillan), died at the Hotel Dieu Hospital in Valleyfield Quebec, age 12
days.
02-20-1947 James P. Sullivan, formerly of Ormstown Quebec, beloved husband of
Edith Sloane, died at Detroit MI, burial in Detroit MI.
02-22-1947 S. M. I. T. L. Todd, died at Quebec City, age 52 years. Cousin of
Mrs. E. St. Amand of Huntingdon Quebec. He served in World War I, remaining in
the forces until 1939, when he continued as an instructor in World War II.
Retiring in 1946. One brother was accidentally killed in a Japanese prison camp,
and another brother was killed in action in World War I. Surviving are two
sisters, Mrs. Edgar Parke, and Mrs. A Robinson, both of Montreal, and Mrs. E.
St. Amand, a cousin in Huntingdon.
02-24-1947 James McGill Winter, beloved husband of the late Margaret Rennie,
died at Ormstown Quebec, in his 85th year.
02-26-1947 Thomas Goundrey, died at the home of his son the law and daughter,
Mr. and Mrs. Douglas McColm, in Dewittville Quebec. The deceased was in his 71st
year, and up to the time of his retirement from active farming, two years ago,
had lived on the Australia concession, in Riverfield. He is survived by his
wife, the former Jesse Allen Stark, one daughter, Doris, Mrs. B. S. McColm, and
two son's, J. Carman of Riverfield, and Garnet S. of Huntingdon, also one
grandson. The youngest son, P.O.T. Allen, lost his life in a flight over France

was a lifelong resident of the Ormstown district, a member of the Georgetown
Presbyterian Church at Howick Quebec, and affiliated with the IOOF for many
years. He is survived by his widow, the former Elizabeth Alexander, three sons
and three daughters, as well as 11 grandchildren. Her died at his son's
residents, 5763 Laurendeau Street, Cote St. Paul. A short service was held at
Collins Funeral Parlors on Saturday, followed by a service at the Georgetown
Presbyterian Church. Interment in the Georgetown Cemetery.

58 years, the deceased was born at Dundee Quebec on June 14th, 1888, a son of
Joseph Ansara Rapin Bourdon. Living here many years ago, afterwards residing in
Clayton, Watertown, and for the past 30 years in Massena. His wife, the former
Miss Viola Sharrow of Clayton whom he married Jun. 12th, 1911, predeceased him
February 21, 1946. Surviving are four son's, James J., Kenneth A, and Thomas E.,
all of Massena, and Francis A Bourdon, of North Syracuse, three brothers, three
sisters and two grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted from the Sacred
Heart Church, in Massena New York, Interment will be made in Calvary Cemetery,
in the spring.

Clouston and the late Dr. J. R. Clouston of Huntingdon, and brother of Dr. H. R.
Clouston of Huntingdon, died suddenly at Granby Quebec. The late Mr. Clouston
was born at Huntingdon Quebec, son of Mrs. Frances Mabel Howard Clouston, and
the late Dr. James Rae Clouston, and he would have been 52 years old on March
13th. In 1924 he married Miss Helen Cowley of Granby, who survives, together
with one son, Mr. Robert Clouston, and one daughter, Miss Norma Clouston, all of
Granby. Other survivors are his mother, Mrs. J. R. Clouston of Huntingdon, one
brother, Dr. Clouston of Huntingdon, two sisters, Agnes, Mrs. George Hunter,
Marjorie, Mrs. Keyworth Cowley, both of Montreal and a number of nieces and
nephews. Funeral was held at his late residents in Granby Quebec on Sunday
afternoon. Service conducted by the Rev. N. B. Patterson, pastor of the Granby
United Church. There was also a Masonic Funeral Service.

Alexander Thom and Helen Greig, coming to Canada at an early age, and educated

of the Beaver Quebec, died at the Ross Memorial Pavilion, of the Royal Victoria
Hospital, Montreal Quebec, age 47 years. The deceased was born in Montreal
Quebec, on July 18th, 1899, son of the late Dr. Harry Kerr and his wife, the
former Grace Miller of Dundee Quebec. He was married on June 14th, 1927, to Miss
Blanche Tryon, taking their marriage vows in the old Zion Church in Dundee. He
leaves to mourn, besides his wife, his mother, Mrs. Grace Kerr of Dundee Quebec,
two sons, Hugh 18 years, and Fred, 13 years. Funeral services were held at the
William Wray Funeral Chapel, service conducted by the Rev. C. Ritchie Bell. The
body was brought to Dundee in the afternoon for Interment in the old Zion Church

age of 21 years he went to Centreville to learn the manufacture of cheese. In
1890 he went to Montreal to work for the cheese firm of A W. Grant, who later
sent him to Liverpool, England, to engage in the manufacture of cream cheese. He

and five sons. The eldest son was in the American army and arrived home in time
to attend the funeral through the efforts of the Red Cross. Funeral services
were held Monday morning at 930 a.m., from the St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church,
and burial made there.
05-02-1947 Mr. Hayword Taylor, beloved husband of Ruby M. Hay, died suddenly at
his home in Philadelphia. Mr. Taylor recently left Montreal to take up residence
in Philadelphia, where his business made it necessary for him to reside there.
Mr. and Mrs. L. Hay of Chateauguay Heights Quebec, left on Sunday, May the
fourth, for Philadelphia where they will spend some time with Mrs. Taylor. Mrs.
Taylor was well known among many of Chateauguay's older residence, though she
has not resided here for a number of years.

baby boy on April 16, the baby died when four days old. He was born on April 12,

Sarah Clark, of Hemmingford Quebec, died at his residence in Hemmingford Quebec,
he was born November the 12th, 1865. He was a lifelong resident of Hemmingford.
He is survived by his wife, the former Charlotte Moore, four sons and four
daughters, 10 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a sister, Mrs. Charles
Garrett, of Schenectady NY. Funeral service was held on May the first in St.
Andrews Presbyterian Church, service conducted by the Rev. A Reid. Interment was
in the family plot in the Hemmingford Cemetery.
04-29-1947 Louis Roy, husband of the late Eugenie Dorias, died suddenly at
Athelstan Quebec, in his 81st year. He was born in St Louis de Gonzague Quebec.
His wife predeceased him in 1934. His entire family of eight children survived
him, Amelia, Mrs. Henry Lambert, Harmon, of Hudson, New York, Clara, Mrs. I.
Pilon of Montreal, Mary Jane, Mrs. O.Bouthillier of Athelstan, Margaret, Mrs.
Harold McConville of Huntingdon, Fred and Joe, of Athelstan, George of Syracuse
NY, and Armour of Montreal. Fifteen grandchildren and 11 great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held in St. Joseph's Church in Huntingdon Quebec.

Huntingdon County Hospital, age 77 years, she was born in Dundee April the 22nd,
1870, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Gage, Mrs. Grant spent her entire
lifetime in the community. Surviving is one son, Hugh Grant, who resides on the
home farm. Funeral services were held from the Grant home Friday afternoon at 2
o'clock, and from the Zion United Church in Dundee, service conducted by the
Rev. E. A Hager. Burial was made in the Zion Church Cemetery

relatives around Huntingdon, them being Mr. Charlie Kyle, Mr. and Mrs. Sam

Kirkland and her son, Edgar W. Kirkland of Ormstown Quebec, and Isabel Kyle
Frasca of Montreal. He leaves a brother, David H. Kirkland of Atlanta GA, also

04-09-1947 Arthur Rowe, formerly of Franklin Center Quebec, died at Blenheim
Ontario, age 90 years. He was born in Franklin Center Quebec, and in September,
1887, he married the former Miss Frances Hall, who survives him, as well as two
daughters, Blanche, Mrs. William Haskett of Lucan, Ontario, Lottie, Mrs. Oliver
Lillie of Birmingham MI, and one son, Clarence, of Maryland, three grandchildren
also survive. Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon for one of
Blenheim's oldest residents, at the Blenheim United Church, services were
conducted by the Rev. R. Keith Love. Interment was at St. James Cemetery in
Clandeboye Ontario.

suddenly at Corbin Quebec, in his 82nd year. He was born at Covey Hill Quebec,
son of John Jackson and his wife, Rosanna Woodward. The deceased leaves a widow,
Alzina Hamilton, who died in 1935, of this union two sons were born, William of
Havelock, and Robert of Plattsburgh NY. Later he married Mrs. Sarah Stevenson
who survives him, also his two son's, and four grandchildren, Walter, Ray, Treva
Jackson and Mrs. C. French, (Olive), also two brothers, John of Covey Hill, and
Frederick L. Boston MA. His brother, Woodward Jackson passed away exactly
one-week previous. He attended his brothers funeral on Tuesday. Funeral was held
in the Wesley United Church, service conducted by his pastor, the Rev. C. R.
Belbin. Interment to place in the family plot at Bethel Church, Covey Hill
Quebec.

Beechridge, 51 years ago, 36 years ago he and his family moved to Bethune and
took up a Homestead, where they have since resided. He leaves to mourn, his
widow, two sons, Robert H. and William H., one daughter, Mrs. Struthers, who
predeceased him several years ago, also four brothers and two sisters.

where he set up a successful business under the name of the Farmers Supply

Quebec, three brothers, Erskine, of Maple Grove Quebec, Stewart of Vancouver BC,

Barrie Memorial Hospital in Ormstown Quebec, he was the only son of the late
Joseph Pelletier and Annie Bennett of Barrington Quebec. Besides his wife, he
leaves to mourn, two daughters, Gladys and Dorothy, Mrs. Lyle Simpson, one son,
Frank, a grandson, a granddaughter, a half brother, William Bennett of

came to them in the death of the little son due to an accident, several years
later they moved to the city.

(Nancy Farrell), his mother, Mrs. P. J. Lefebvre, his brothers, Remi, Andre,

home on King Street East, Prescott ON, age, 97 years 10 months. He was son of
the late Edw.Simon Johnson and his wife, Carolyn Robinson. He was of United
Empire Loyalist Stock, a direct descendant of Sir William Johnson. In 1880, he
married Miss Catherine Eliza Hill of Lancaster who died 14 years ago. Funeral
services were held from his residence, and burial was in Sandy Hill Cemetery.
Service was conducted by his pastor, the Rev. J. A. Payton.
09-17-1947 Mrs. Betsy Wing, Roxham's eldest citizen, passed away at her home
after failing health for the past several years she was in her 91st year's. She
was born in Roxham Québec, August 25th, 1857, spending most of her life in
Roxham, until she was united in marriage to Mr. Albert Wing of St. Luc Québec,
on May 13th, 1883. She lived in St. Luc until the death of her husband on April
27, 1916. She moved back to Roxham one year after and remained here till her
death. She leaves to mourn, four daughter's, Lillian, Mrs. Robert Akester of
Roxham, Hattie, Mrs. W. Akester of Roxham, Clara, Mrs. Gilbert Fewster of
Hemmingford, and Mary, Mrs. Emile Trepanier of Montreal, one sister, Mrs. Louise

services were private, and service conducted by the Rev. Charles Spencer, pastor
of the North Guilford Congregational Church, and burial to place in Middlefield

09-26-1947 Mrs. Herbert Cunningham, (Elizabeth Edgar), died in the Montreal
General Hospital, in her 66 year. The deceased was born in 1882, at Lancaster,
ON, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Edgar. She was married to Herbert
Cunningham of Lancaster ON, November 22nd, 1911. They came to live on the farm
in Huntingdon immediately after their marriage. There were six children born to
this union, five daughters and one son, the daughters are, Alison, Mrs. Gordon
Frame of Rochester NY, Janet, Mrs. Trevor Allison of Morrisburg ON, Mary, who
died in infancy, Martha, Mrs. Robert Johnson of Bathurst New Brunswick, and
Helen, Mrs. Hugh Rutherford of Montreal, John, at home on the farm. She is also
survived by her husband, two sisters, two brothers, and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the United Church in Huntingdon Québec, and
Interment was made in the Huntingdon Protestant Cemetery.
09-28-1947 Mrs. Josephine Ouimet, wife of the late Alexander Ouimet, died at the
home of her son in St. Agnes. The deceased was born in St. Philomene on May 2nd,
1865. She had lived at Lees Coroner's for the past 20 years, and had only come
to stay with her son John, at St. Agnes about a month previous to her death. She
raised a family of 10 children, five boys and five girls, who are left to mourn

died at his home in Ormstown Quebec, age 71 years. He was born in Rockburn
Quebec, the youngest of a family of seven children to William and Christina
McEwen Williams, on December 01, 1875. In 1899 he married Catherine Jane
Blatchford of Huntingdon, and moved to their home in Ormstown. Surviving him are

in Aubrey Quebec, in 1889, moving to Howick about 35 years ago, where he
established himself as a businessman and a community worker, he is survived by
his wife, the former Ida Gamble, two son's, Alastair of Howick, and Hollis, of
Hemmingford, two daughters, Mildred, Mrs. John Young, and Norma of Montreal, one
brother, William, one sister, Elizabeth, of Aubrey Quebec, also three
grandchildren. Also surviving is William R. Rorison, only surviving Uncle of the
deceased.

Huntingdon Quebec. Dr. (Jack) Barrington as he was known, was born in 1880, on
the Irish Concession, near Howick Quebec, only son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas Barrington. He was married in 1904, to Rose Henderson of the Gore,
Hinchinbrooke Quebec. He leaves to mourn, his widow, two daughters, Ada of
Montreal, Bertha, Mrs. Walter Hay of Glenelm Quebec, and two son's, Thomas of
Toronto and James of Verdun, also four grandsons. Funeral services were
conducted by the Rev. J. B.McLean, and held from his late residence on Saturday
afternoon, October 11th. Interment was in the Huntingdon Protestant Cemetery.

Mariborough Street, Cornwall Ontario age 85 years. She was born in St Anicet
Quebec, daughter of the late Hugh McEwen and his wife, Christy Campbell. After
her marriage to Mr. Finlayson, they resided in Bainsville until 1938, when the
family took a residence in Cornwall. Her husband predeceased her in February,
1941. Left to mourn, a daughter, Mrs. Ross Fraser, of Lancaster Ontario, a son,
Donald H.R. Finlayson, of Smith Falls, one granddaughter, Muriel Evelyn McKie,
of Sterling, one grandson, Master Hugh Brock Finlayson of Smith falls, also four

moved from Howick to Mantario, Saskatchewan. Her husband and two son's, George
and Fred, predeceased her several years ago. Survivors include son's, William of
Montario, Saskatchewan, John of Regina Saskatchewan, daughters, Phyllis, Mrs.
Westgate of Regina, Alice, Mrs. Wilson, of Calgary, Florence, Mrs. Owens, of
Lucky Lake, Saskatchewan, 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
11-14-1947 Peter Munro, beloved husband of Mary McVey, and father of Leslie and
Lillian, died suddenly at his home on the Ridge Road, Athelstan Quebec, age 70
years. The deceased was the youngest son of the late Peter Munro and his wife,
Margaret Boyd, born on the farm where his death occurred. He celebrated his 70th
birthday the previous day. In 1918, he was united in marriage with Mary McVeay
of Huntingdon, surviving are his wife, two children, Leslie, on the home place,
and Lillian,R.N. of the Montreal Western Hospital, another son, Malcolm,
predeceased him in 1925. Mr. Munro was one of the family of 10 children, four of
whom survive him, namely, Duncan of Meskanaw, Saskatchewan, Donald of Montreal,
Mary of Laval des Rapids, and Kate, Mrs. William Forbus of Montreal. Funeral
services were conducted on Sunday afternoon, service conducted by the Rev. W. W.
Conrad. Interment took place in the family lot in the Athelstan Cemetery.

of Knife River. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church in Cloquet

the late Elizabeth Figsby, died at the Barrie Memorial Hospital in Ormstown
Québec, in her 86th year. She was born at Hemmingford Québec, March 3rd, 1862,
daughter of the late Donald McNaughton and his late wife, Elizabeth Figsby. She
had lived all her life on the hill where she was born. Three brothers
predeceased her, Henry, Donald, and William. She is survived by a sister-in-law,
Mrs. Dara McNaughton of Ottawa Ontario, four nephews, Howard, Donald and William
McNaughton of Danville VT, Melville McNaughton of Ottawa, one niece, Marion,
Mrs. Raymond Bellville of Waterbury VT. Funeral took place on December the
fourth, in the Presbyterian Church, service was conducted by the Rev. Mr. Reid,
assisted by the Rev. Mr. Bennett. Interment in the family plot at Hemmingford
Québec.
11-14-1947 Frederick Julius Keddy, died at Perrys Mills, age 76 years. He was a
native of Hemmingford Québec, but resided at Perrys Mills for many years. He was
born at Hemmingford Québec in 1871, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Keddy.
He married the former Hattie Smith, who survives him, in 1897. Besides his wife,
he is survived by one son, Raymond Keddy of Champlain, three brothers, Robert of
Plattsburgh NY, William and Herbert of Hemmingford Québec, two sisters, Mrs.
John Cleland of Roxham, Mrs. Henry Pelly of Montreal, besides several
grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at Perrys Mills
Methodist Church on Sunday, Nov. 16th, service conducted by the Rev. Daniel
Partridge, pastor. Interment was in the Cemetery at Roxham Québec.

four years ago. He married the former Maude Miller, in September, 1908, who
survives him. He leaves to mourn, his wife, one daughter, Verna, Mrs. Arthur
Buchanan of Howick Québec, one son, Aubrin, who resides on the farm at
Riverfield, and also four grandchildren, Doris, Ross and Lyle Buchanan of
Howick, and Patsy Reddick of Riverfield. Also by four brothers, Will of
Belleville Ontario, Cyrus of Visalia CA, Hiram and Ray of Aubrey Québec, two

New York, age 68 years. She was born in Virginia City NV, 68 years ago, daughter
of Mrs. Sarah Baker Gilmore, now living in Plattsburgh NY, and the late Matthew
Gilmore, both of Ormstown Québec. In 1905, she was united in marriage to Patrick
Cunningham of Ormstown Québec, at St. Patrick's Church, in Hinchinbrooke Québec,
living in Ormstown until the family moved to Malone in 1921. She is survived by
her husband, two sons, Francis of Colorado Springs, Earl of Malone New York, two
daughters, Helen and Sara at home. Funeral services were held Friday morning at
10 a.m. the Mgr. F. M. Kenney chanted the mass. The remains were put in the
vault for burial in the spring.

Huntingdon Québec, in his 76th year. He was born at Caughnawaga, Que, he was
married to Mary Laberge in 1899, and in 1922, moved to Huntingdon where he lived
until the time of his death. Mr. Hubert was a member of the league of the Sacred
Heart. He is survived by his wife, who cared for him for five and a half years.

12-25-1947 Infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Wylie of Aubrey Québec,
died at the Children's Memorial Hospital.
12-10-1947 Ida Elizabeth Curran, wife of the late Jones Smith of Hamilton
Ontario, died at St. Peter's Infirmary, age 82 years. She was born at
Hemmingford Québec, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Curran, she
married Charles John Smith, of Sherbrooke Québec, who predeceased her several
years ago. After their married they resided in Sherbrooke for many years, leader
moving to Hamilton where she has resided for the past 29 years. She leaves to
mourn, her two sons, William of Kingston Ontario, and Walter of Hamilton
Ontario, two daughters, Jenny E. and Mrs. Thomas McClure of Hamilton, one
sister, Mrs. Fred A. Sweet of Hemmingford, also four grandchildren. Funeral
services took place at Johnson's Funeral Chapel, service conducted by the Rev.
Fred Williams. Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery beside her late husband.
12-15-1947 Wilfrid Huot, died suddenly at his home in Aubrey Québec. Besides his
wife, Leonie Laberge, he leaves to mourn, his daughter's, Violet, Mrs. Walter
Marcil, Sr. Anita,Rev.S. of H.N. of J.O.M., Gisele, Mrs. Marcil Claude (Marie
Ange) and Anita. His sons, Joseph, Girard, Aldeo and Florent. Two sisters, Mrs.
J. Primeau and Albina, 3 brothers, Arthur, Albert and Eucher. Several
grandchildren, nephews and nieces. Funeral services to place a St Chrysostome
Québec, service conducted by the Rev. Father Julian.
12-31-1947 To Mr. and Mrs. Alton Barrington, (Helen Robinson), at the Barrie
Memorial Hospital in Ormstown Quebec, a son.
