youngest son of the late John C. and Janet Cameron MacGregor, died suddenly at
4030 Inverness Avenue, Vancouver BC, age 44 years.
01-04-1949 Arthur McAllister, died suddenly at his home in Hemmingford Québec,
age 79 years. He was born in Hemmingford Québec, on the Hurley Road. Later his
family moved to Havelock, where he resided until forty years ago, when he came
to Robson and bought a farm. He married Mrs. Eva McCarroll, who passed away in
1919. He leaves to mourn, one son, Willard, his daughter-in-law and seven
grandchildren, also three brothers, Michael and Havelock, and James and John,
from the United States. Funeral service took place in the Roman Catholic Church
in Hemmingford Québec, and burial was made in the Cemetery there.

94th year.
01-12-1949 Daniel James MacGregor, son of the late John MacGregor, and his wife,
Annie Condie, of Riverfield Québec. Died at Hamilton Ontario.
01-10-1949 Linnie B. Vebert, wife of Meryl R. McWhinney, and daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Stelman Vebert of Edmunston New Brunswick, died at St. John's
Québec, age 33 years. Interred at St. John's Québec.
01-19-1949 Mrs. Thomas Johnston, of Canton New York, died at the Hospital in Hew
Smyrna Beach, Florida, shortly after arrival. In her 64th year. She had been
visiting the home of her son, Howard, through the month of January. The deceased
was a daughter of the late Jasper Hawes and his wife, Sophia Seely, of Athelstan
Québec, she was married to Thomas Johnston, together with one daughter,
Christena, Mrs. J. French, of Syracuse New York, and one son, Howard, of Smyrna
Beach Florida, survive her, another daughter, Gladys, Predeceased her several
years ago. Mr. J. French, son of law, Mrs. H. Johnston, of Florida,
daughter-in-law, and three grandchildren also survive her. Her remains were
brought by train to her home in Canton New York, where funeral services were
held on Sunday afternoon at the family residence. Interment in the Cemetery
vault at Canton New York.
01-10-1949 Robert Kamran MacGregor, died accidentally while he was repairing the
steam shovel which he has operated for some years, the wrench which he was using
slipped and apparently hit his arm. He passed away within a few minutes, before
medical aid could be summoned. He was born at the farm home near Huntingdon,
November 26, 1904, youngest son of John C. MacGregor and his wife, Janet Kamran.
In the spring of 1925, he went west and has made his home in Vancouver for many
years. He is survived by his wife, formerly Marjorie Deyell, a son, Ronald, a
small daughter, Judy, also a brother, Russell, in Baxter Springs KS, and a
sister, Mabel, Mrs. Stanley Anderson of Huntingdon Québec. A sister, Helen, Mrs.
Orville Gamble, Predeceased him by 10 days, and a brother, Archie, on October
27, 1947. Funeral services were held at the Nunn and Thomson Chapel, service
conducted by the Rev. Dr. S. Packham, the body was cremated.

01-23-1949 Thomas Hamilton, of Howick Québec, husband of Annie McClenaghan, died
at his home in Fertile Creek Québec. The deceased was in his 87th year, and was
the son of the late Mary Stewart and Richard Hamilton. He spent his entire life
in Fertile Creek. He was married to Annie McClenaghan on June 27, 1894. He
leaves to mourn, his widow, and two daughters, Lyla, of Fertile Creek, Pearl,
Mrs. Haddon Kerr of Notre Dame de Grace, also three granddaughters, one sister
and one brother. Two sisters and two brothers predeceased him. Funeral services
were held at his late residence in Fertile Creek, service conducted by his
minister, the Rev. J. H. Marshall. Interment was in the Georgetown Cemetery.
01-24-1949 Peter Alexander McNaughton, son of the late Alexander McNaughton and
Agnes Young, died at his residence in Hemmingford Québec, in his 75th year. He
was born in Hemmingford Québec, where he gave his entire life, and a member of
one of the county's pioneer families. He is survived by his sister, Miss
Isabella Margaret MacNaughton. Funeral services were held on Wednesday
afternoon, January 26, in St. Andrews United Church, service conducted by the
Rev. RC Belbin.

died at the Huntingdon County Hospital, age 72 years.
01-17-1949 John S. Moore, of East Angus Québec, died at the Hotel Dieu Hospital
in Sherbrooke Québec. Interment at Melvern Cemetery in Lennoxville Québec.
01-13-1949 John Morison, died at his home in Fertile Creek Québec. Where he had
lived for almost 75 years. He leaves to mourn, his wife, a daughter, a son, a
small grandson, four sisters, a brother and a large circle of friends. Funeral
services of a private nature, were held Saturday.
01-03-1949 Joseph W. Quenneville, died at Dundee Québec, age 82 years. He was
born at St Anicet Québec, in 1867, but lived practically his lifetime in Dundee.
It was there he settled when he married Henrietta Desjardins, bringing up their
family of nine children. He leaves to mourn, besides his wife, four son's and
four daughter's, Bill, of St. Agnes, Armand, of St. Agnes, Sophie, Mrs. Armand
Lefebvre of Montreal, Louise, Mrs. Antoine Castagner of St. Agnes, Joseph, of
Massena New York, Annie, Mrs. A Monnette of St. Jean, Elie, of St. Agnes,
Angeline, Mrs. Willie Minard of St. Jean, one son, John, Predeceased his father
fifteen years ago. In addition to these, there are 30 grandchildren. Funeral
services were held from the St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, service conducted
by the Rev. Father Marcil of Hinchinbrooke.

01-31-1949 Mr. H. T. MacDonald, father of Mrs. O. E. Caza of Valleyfield Québec,
died at Winnipeg MB, age 79 years.
01-28-1949 Agnes Rutherford, beloved wife of W. G. McGerrigle of Ormstown, died
suddenly at Ormstown Québec, age 76 year's. She was the youngest daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. John Rutherford, she was born on the Tullochgorum Road and
spent all her life in this district. She was married in 1898, she and her
husband made their home at Tatehurst, and it was there that their three sons
were born. It is of interest to note that last March they celebrated their 50th
wedding anniversary. In addition to her far flung circle of friends, she leaves
to mourn, her husband and three sons, Ross, of Gastonia, North Carolina,
Clarence, of Montreal, and Herald, of Québec, her daughters in law and six
grandchildren. Funeral from St. Paul's United Church, and burial was in the
Union Cemetery, in Ormstown Québec.

Huntingdon Québec, died at the Hepburn Hospital in Ogdensburg New York, age 62
years.
01-27-1949 Atthur G. Roby, beloved husband of the late Grace E. Crawford, died
at Burke New York, age 88 years.
01-08-1949 Mrs. B. J. Goodier, (Annie Payne Smyth), died at Georgetown Québec,
she was a native of Abbeyleix, Queens County, Ireland, the daughter of Thomas
and Margaret Smyth, both of whom had been schoolteachers, and was one of 13
children, 8 of whom were trained as teachers. She had spent over four years in
South Africa as Governess in the household of the Honorable Harry Burton,
Minister of Finance in the government of South Africa, and had frequently met
Jan Smutts there. She came to Ottawa in 1908, where she was Governess to Seymour
MacDougall, grandson of the then, Receiver-General. She later married Edward
John Goodier, the marriage being performed by the late Archdeacon Pattersons
Smith, Rector of St. George's Church in Montreal. After Mr. Goodier's retirement
from the Canadian National Railway, they move to Georgetown and purchased the
house on Guelph Street, where she died.

resident of Fairfield for six years. Besides her husband, she is survived by one
son, Norman McHardy of East Haven, one daughter, Mrs. James Rippchen of
Fairfield, one brother, Beauford Palmer of East Haven and five grandchildren.

02-23-1949 Frederick K. Bruce, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bruce, and
beloved husband of E. Jean Moody Bruce, died at Huntingdon Québec, in his 67th
year. He was a native of the township of St Anicet and came to Huntingdon in the
year 1911, he was a son of the late Robert Bruce and his wife, Mary Ann Clark,
the second last of 10 children of whom 5 Predeceased him, Archibald, George,
Wallace, Henry and Edward. Those surviving him are Miller, of St. Alban's
Vermont, Miss Mary of Huntingdon, James of Fullerton Ontario, and Jesse, Mrs.
Herman Miller, of West Chazy New York. He married Jean Moody, a daughter of the
late Mr. B. MacGregor Moody of Dundee, and granddaughter of Rev. Duncan Moody,
the first settlement minister in the County of Huntingdon. He is survived by his
wife, and three children, Ronald of Hemmingford, where he is principal of the
high school, Elizabeth, Mrs. William Hallamore of Toronto Ontario, and Duncan of
Lennoxville Quebec. Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon, February
25th, in St. Andrew's Church, service conducted by the Church minister.

Hospital, in Hedley British Columbia. Mr. Henderson was born in Huntingdon
Québec, in 1883, and came to British Columbia in 1920. He had been a resident of
Hedley British Columbia for the past 13 years. Surviving besides his wife,
Winnie Stuart, formerly of Rockburn Québec, and step son, J. S. Steele, are his
mother, Mrs. Thomas Henderson, and sister, Mrs. Ed Graham of Grand Forks, two
brothers, Herbert and Kenneth, also of Grand Forks, Mrs. Charles Gray of Selby
California, and George of Seattle WA. Funeral services were held in the Hedley
United Church, service conducted by the Rev. Murray Cameron. Interment took
place in the Masonic plot in the Hedle, British Columbia Cemetery.

York, September 13, 1892. She was married to Ralph Lewis in 1914, she is

New York, Dr.Revis C. Lewis, a member of the staff of the Neurological Hospital
in Montreal, and Dr. Ralph W. Lewis, of Lockport New York. Her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Wesley Brooks, of Mooers New York, two brothers, Seward Brooks and Graham
Brooks of Mooers,N.Y., and two sisters, Mrs. Neil Fee, of Mooers, and Mrs.

Saskatoon Saskatchewan, in his 81st year. He was a son of the late John
Blatchford and his wife, Ann Cameron. He was born October 22nd, 1868, in
Huntingdon Québec. On June 15, 1898, he married Lydia Coulter. Twelve years
later he went to Colonsay Saskatchewan, where he farmed for many year's. He
leaves to mourn, his wife and two sons, Lester and Maitland and their families
comprising 11 grandchildren. He was predeceased by a younger son, F.O. Glenn,
who was killed in action on June 17, 1944

(Not dated) Joseph A. Knowles, retired conductor and resident of Reno for 30
years, died at his University Avenue home recently. He had lived in this area
since settling at Wadsworth in 1887, and has been retired from the railroad
since 1937. Mr. Knowles was born June 13th, 1869, in Rockburn Québec, Canada.
After coming from Canada to Wadsworth he worked for some time on the Andy
Russell Ranch and became a Southern Pacific brakeman in 1881. In 1906, Mr.
Knowles was made a passenger train conductor. He was married in Carlin in 1897,
to Sara A. Buckle. His widow and three daughters, Mrs. Leona Mills, Mill Valley
California, Mrs. Olive Stout, and Mrs. Josephine Staus, both of Reno NV,
survive. He also has brothers and sisters who survive him, George Knowles, of
Vermont, Archie Knowles of Seattle WA, Mrs. Janie Simpson, and Mrs. Sara Arthur,
both of Québec Canada, Mrs. Hannah Thompson of New Hampshire, Mrs. Tillie Davis
and Mrs. Addie Wescott, both of Vermont, and Mrs. Allan Jamison of Canada.

Hospital, age 81 years. A week ago she suffered a severe stroke at the home of
Mr. Albert Lumsden, on Brook Road. Funeral service was held at the home of her
sister, Mrs. Keith, on Wednesday afternoon, service conducted by the Rev. W. S.
Hatcher, rector of St. John's Church in Huntingdon Quebec. Interment was made in
the Huntingdon Cemetery.
05-11-1949 Mr. Albert Dumas, beloved husband of Yvonne Cusson, died suddenly at
Franklin Center Québec, age 69 years. Interment at St. Antoine Parish Cemetery.
05-17-1949 James Andrew Hampson, husband of the late Martha Renkin, died at his
residence in Huntingdon Québec, in his 89th year. Mr. Hampson was a native of
Huntingdon, being born here, September 10th, 1860, his father being the late
James Sampson and his mother, the late Mary Jane Jamieson. He was a member of
St. John's Anglican Church, and as his Rector, the Rev. W. S. Hatcher, stated at
his funeral service, whenever the Church Bells toll you could count upon Mr.
Hampson being present. His wife Martha Rankin passed away 10 years ago. Mr.
Hampson was a carpenter and cabinetmaker by trade, and for years was in the
piano factory and organ factory, when they operated in Huntingdon. For some 16
years he was employed at the Central Hotel. He lost his daughter, Inez, in 1912,
and a son, Walter, in 1913. George Hampson, the eldest son, died in 1948.
Surviving members of the family are, Miss Gertrude Hampson, who so tenderly
cared for her father at the home, the eldest living son, E. E. Hampson of
Montreal, Stanley of Dundee, and Arthur C. of Huntingdon, one sister, Mrs.
William MacDonald of Ottawa, to this devoted family, daughters-in-law and
grandsons, Larry and Don, the sympathy of the community goes to them in their
hour of bereavement. Funeral Friday, May 20th, from St. John's Anglican Church.
05-15-1949 Mrs. Nellie Marshall Hawkins, wife of Mr. Dent Hawkins, and mother of
Miss Audrey Hawkins, died suddenly at Huntingdon Québec, in her 58th year. The
Hawkins family came to Huntingdon a year ago from Guiseley, Yorkshire, England.
She was mother of Miss Audrey Hawkins, who is left to mourn, also her husband.
Funeral services were held from the United Church in Huntingdon Québec.

05-19-1949 Dougald F. McIntyre, husband of Eliza Lucas, died in Ormstown Quebec,
age 72 years. He was a retired Blacksmith and Hardware Merchant in Ormstown
Quebec. He was born at Allan's Corners Quebec, son of the late Archibald
McIntyre and the late Catherine Rutherford, one of six sons and two daughters.
In September, 1904, he was married to a Eliza Lucas, who he leaves to mourn, in
1912, Mr. and Mrs. McIntyre moved to Ormstown and continued his trade for about
20 years. He then began a Hardware business which he operated until the time of
his death. He leaves to mourn, his widow, two sisters, Miss Fannie McIntyre of
Huntingdon, Mrs. J. J. McWhinnie of Allan's Corners Quebec, and one brother, Mr.
John McIntyre of New Westminster, British Columbia. Funeral services were held
Sunday, May the 22nd, at St. James Anglican Church, service conducted by the
Rev. W. T. Payne. Interment in the Anglican Cemetery

survived by her husband, Wallace R. Carroll, her mother, Mrs. Elsie Sutherland
of Galt Ontario, one daughter, Mrs. W. McEachern (Reid), of Hamilton Ontario,
one son, Kelvin of Galt Ontario, one brother, Percy Sutherland of Galt, and one
sister, Myrtle, Mrs. H. Boettger of Galt. The deceased was at one time resident

06-15-1949 Mary Galipeau, widow of the late Joseph Hart and Zotique Leroux, died
at the Huntingdon County Hospital, age 62 years. She was a daughter of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Galipeau, an old respected French family. She lived at her
home on Hunter Street, to which she came at the age of 15 years as the bride of
the late Joseph Hart. Their three children died in infancy. She is survived by
one sister, Blanche, Mrs. William Picard, and two brothers, Paul and Samuel
Galipeau, also a number of nieces and nephews. A brother, Mr. Moise Galipeau,
passed away a few years ago. In 1941, she married Mr.Zotique Leroux of
Valleyfield, who has also predeceased her. Funeral services was held at St.
Joseph's Church, and mass was sung by Father Rolande, assisted by Father Pigeon.

Hospital. Mrs. MacNaughton was born in Glasgow Scotland, 75 years ago, and came
to Ranfurly in 1908, where she resided until her death. She is survived by her
husband, two sons, Malcolm Peter of Ranfurly, and William Norman of Lethbridge
Alberta, two daughters, Mrs. C. D. Tait of Ponoka Alberta, and Mrs. R. Fraser,
of Provost, one sister, Mrs. L. Robertson in Scotland. Funeral services were
held from the Ranfurly Church on June 29, service conducted by the Rev. Murray
Sutherland.

Québec, died at her home at Froomfield, Carunna, ON. Mrs. McClanahan was born
near Athelstan Québec, and was a daughter of the late Charles Brown and
Christina White. Mr. and Mrs. McClanahan resided in Lethbridge Alberta for 35
years, she is survived by her son, Dr. G. H. McClanahan of Flint MI, and a
daughter, Jean at home. Her remains are being forwarded to Toronto for

school, later graduating from Montreal General Hospital. She served as a nursing
Sister of the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II when she was
stationed at Vancouver and Rockcliffe. She leaves to mourn, her husband, two
children, Ann and John Brian, her mother, Mrs. Eva Cavers, two brothers, Allan
of Ormstown and William of Montreal. Funeral services were held on Friday at the
Ormstown Presbyterian Church, burial took place in the Ormstown Union Cemetery.
08-02-1949 Isabella McBean, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Angus McBean,
formerly of Dundee Quebec, died at Glenelm Quebec, in her 79 year. She was born
in Dundee Quebec on December 25th, 1870, spending her lifetime on the McBean
Homestead. She lived alone for many years, and since suffering a stroke two
years ago, she has been staying in Hospital and Nursing Homes, suffering an
additional stroke and passing away while under the care of Mrs. E. R. Thompson
of Glenelm Quebec. She leaves no relatives, except several cousins, a number of
whome were present at her funeral. Funeral services were held on Thursday
afternoon, August 4th, from the Cosgrove Undertaking Parlors to the Zion Church
in Dundee, where the Rev A E. Hager conducted the ceremony. Interment took place
in the Zion Church Cemetery in the McBean family plot.

08-17-1949 Rupert McMillan, died suddenly at his home in Natick, Massachusetts,
following a heart attack. Mr. McMillan was born in Franklin Center Quebec, son
of Mr. and Mrs. John McMillan. He was 59 years of age. He spent his early life
in Franklin Center Quebec, later moving to Churubusco New York, where he lived
until October 1948, when he and his family moved to Natick. He is survived by
his wife, the former Miss Cecilia O'Meara, four sons, Warren and Cecil of
Dannemora New York, John and George of Natick, one daughter, Miss Mary
McMillan,R.N. of Natick, one granddaughter, one brother, Sylvester MacMillan of
Plattsburgh New York, three sisters, Mrs. Leo McCormick, Mrs. William Harrigan,
and Mrs. Florence Lavery, all of Chateauguay, also several nieces and nephews.
The remains were brought to the home of Mrs. Harrigan, and the funeral was held
there on Friday August 20th, with services at 10:00 at St. Philomene's Church in
Churubusco. Burial was in Churubusco.

sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Brown, after a lingering illness at Cardiff, South Wales.
Besides his friends here he leaves to mourn, two sisters, and a brother, and

Corners,Que. Another brother, Mr. R. Tierney lives in Montreal. She was 42 years

suddenly at Howick Quebec, in his 61st year. He was Postmaster and General
Merchant of Howick Quebec. He had 35 years faithful service for the post office
and was in business for 46 years. He was born in Howick Quebec, receiving his
education there, and in Huntingdon. He is survived by his wife, the former Ina
Beatrice Logan, three daughters, Mrs. RC Murdie of Montreal, Mrs. R. M. Trimmer,
and Miss Jean Gebbie of Howick, a brother William, of Vancouver, and two
sisters, Mrs. G.C.P. McIntyre of St. John NB, and Miss M. E. Gebbie of Montreal.
Funeral services were held in the Georgetown Presbyterian Church in Howick

Moore, age 70 years.
10-14-1949 Annie Pettis, beloved wife of the late Thomas P. Moore, died at the
Western Hospital in Montreal Quebec, following an operation, age 78 years. She
was the last survivor of her family. Born in St Chrysostome Quebec, she spent
most of her life their, until the death of her husband in 1928. She moved to
Ormstown where she lived three year's. Since then she made her home with her
three children, Dr. E. Moore of Hollister California, Mrs. William R. Wilson of
Huntingdon, and Mrs. F. Brooks of Delhi New York. Two children, Clark and
Carmen, died in infancy. She had nine grandchildren. Funeral's services took
place Sunday afternoon at the Wilson Home, service conducted by the Rev. T.
Knowles. Interment was made in the Russeltown Cemetery.

10-22-1949 Miss Ella Dunsmore, daughter of the late George and Ellen Dunsmore,
died at Rockburn Quebec, in her 82nd year. She came here in 1927, and build a
home in which she has entertained many of her friends. She was born in 1868 at
New Erin Quebec, daughter of George Dunsmore and his wife, Ellen Douglas, she
and her sister Margaret were very close to both parents. The mother had sold her
farm and build a home now occupied by Mrs. F. Lachance, before her death. The
two sisters spent some time in the eastern states, then return to Huntingdon and
the elder married Mr. Nelson Goldie in 1903, thus making Rockburn her home. Miss
Dunsmore then return to Meriden CT, and for over thirty years conducted a
business of dressmaking and tailoring. Funeral service was private in her own
home, service conducted by her pastor, the Rev. W. A. S. Hatcher. She was to
rest with her parents in the Huntingdon Cemetery.
10-23-1949 Charles Aubrey Poole, beloved husband of Francis Hamilton, died at
the Huntingdon County Hospital, age 63 years. He served with the Canadian Army
from 1914 to 1918. He returned to Montreal and married Miss Francis Hamilton. He
found employment in the city and remained there until 1948 when because of
failing health he retired from active work and returned to his old hometown. He
leaves his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Bernard of Montreal, and one granddaughter.
Funeral services were held in the Rockburn Church, on Wednesday, service
conducted by the Rev. W. S. Hatcher. The casket, covered by the union Jack was
borne by members of the Legion at the graveside and the strains of the Last
Post. Interment in Hillside Cemetery.

Street in Huntingdon Québec. He was united in marriage twice, both of his wives

Montreal, Charles, Ernest, and Gordon, all of Huntingdon. Daughters, Mrs.
Geraldine McCoy of Danville, Mrs. Ellenor Montgomery, and Mrs. Dorothy McLean,

also 12 grandchildren. Funeral services were held in St. John's Church in

30 years ago with Mr. and Mrs. Burnell, her sister, since having made her home

Huntingdon Québec, died at Claire Michigan, Funeral at Claire Michigan. He left
Huntingdon years ago and was employed by the Borden milk company. In 1922, he
was married to Greta Cogland, eldest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. R. E.
Cogland. He is survived by his widow, son Douglas and daughter Marilyn. Mrs.
William Wiley of Montreal, is a sister-in-law, and Mr. Everett Cogland of
Huntingdon is a brother-in-law.
11-03-1949 John C. McMaster, beloved husband of Barbara Elizabeth Napier, died
at Ste Agnes de Dundee Québec, age 70 years. He was born on the farm east of his
home, a son of the late John McMaster and his wife, Mary Jane Miller. In 1910,
he married Elizabeth Napier, only daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William
Napier of the Beaver,Quebec. Left to mourn, are his widow, and four children,
Mabel, Mrs. D.O. McCracken, Ethel, Mrs. Francis McCracken, Beulah, Mrs. Clifford
Murray, and George at home, two daughter's predeceased him, Helen on October the
18th, 1914, and Mary, Mrs. U.Blais on May 06, 1949. Funeral services were held
at the Zion United Church in Dundee Québec on Sunday November 6th, service
conducted by his pastor, the Rev. A. E. Hager. Interment in the Zion Church
Cemetery.

Québec, died in Malone New York, in her fiftieth year. Margaret Rankin was born
December 26, 1899, one of several children, born to the late Arthur and Margaret
Rankin of Huntingdon Québec. She was married 28 years ago and since that time
has made her home in the United States. They resided for a period of 13 years in
Buffalo, but for some time lived at Chateauguay. Surviving is her husband, one
daughter, Janet Patricia, both of Chateauguay Lake. One brother, Burton Rankin
of Huntingdon, five sisters, Mrs. Ward McLean, and Miss Lillian Rankin of
Huntingdon, Mrs. James English of Great Falls MT, Mrs. Elsie King of Biggar
Saskatchewan, and Mrs. Evelyn Cooper of Sudbury, Ontario. Funeral services were
held at the Bernardsville Methodist Church on Sunday afternoon, service

years ago, Mrs. Kennedy moved from Hemmingford to Massena to be near her family.
She leaves to mourn, four son's, Robert R. Kennedy, and John O. Kennedy of
Massena NY, Frederick C. Kennedy, a member of the United States Air Force, and
George R. Kennedy of Montreal, one daughter, Verna, of Massena, two brothers,
Frank McLaren of Syracuse New York, and Robert of Ottawa Ontario. Funeral
services were held in St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Hemmingford Québec,
service conducted by the Rev. Marshall, of Howick Québec. Interment took place
in the family plot at Hemmingford beside her husband, the late Dr. George A.
Kennedy, who predeceased her several years ago.

11-14-1949 Hugh Cameron, died at his home at the Beaver, Québec, in his 86 year.
Funeral service at the Zion United Church. Service was conducted by his pastor,
the Rev. A. E. Hager. Interment took place in the Zion Church Cemetery, Dundee
Québec. He was the eldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Cameron of the
Beaver, Québec. On February 01, 1899, he married Mary Johnetta Reynolds, eldest
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Noel Reynolds of the Beaver Québec. One son,
Alexander Blackett Cameron, was born to them. On February the first, 1949, Mr.
and Mrs. Hugh Cameron celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at their home
when some 85 relatives and friends came to offer their congratulations. He is
survived by his widow, his son, and adopted daughter, Mrs. Blanche Kerr of
Montreal, formerly Blanche Tryon, also two brothers, Albert and James, both of
Lowell MA.

well-known to many in Huntingdon and district, died in Malone New York, age 58
years. He was born in Parishville. On September, 1915, he was married to Mrs.
Lillian C. Abbott of England, who survives him along with two children, Alister
of Schenectady New York, and Mrs. Haward Chrisco of Massena NY, also several
brothers and sisters. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon November 07,
from the Congregational Church. And burial service was conducted by the Masonic
Lodge in Morningside Cemetery.

Lefebvre Bouchard and the late Eva Lefebvre, died at Huntingdon Québec.
11-01-1949 Mrs. Joseph Fournier, (Salomee Quenneville), died at St Anicet
Québec, in her 85th year. She died at the home of her daughter, after a long
illness. She had been a resident of Dundee for over forty-seven years. She was
born on the 14th of June, 1865, daughter of the late Balonee Quenneville and
Sophie Caza of St Anicet. She was united in marriage to Joseph Fournier, and
gave birth to six children, three of whom predeceased her, Albert who died 31
years ago, Rose, who died 13 years ago, and Homer who died three years ago.
Surviving are two daughters, Rhea, Mrs. Zenophile Robidoux, Anita, and Mrs.
Joseph Chretien, both of St Anicet, and a son, Wilfred Fournier of Massena New
York. She had 24 grandchildren. Funeral services were held in the Ste Agnes de
Dundee Roman Catholic Church, with services by the Rev. Father Marcel.

and beloved wife of Arthur Allen Rintoul of Montreal, died at the Royal Victoria
Hospital.
11-11-1949 Hardy Lucia of Chateauguay New York, died at his home in Chateauguay
following a long illness. He was born in Alburgh Springs NY, in 1887, the son of
John and Melissa Covey Lucia. The family moved to Ellenburg and later to
Chateauguay. In 1905 He was united in marriage with the former Miss Delia
LaCourt of Chateauguay. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Ruth E.
Lucia, one son, Ray Lucia, all of Chateauguay, also by three grandchildren, Mrs.
Robert English of Brainardsville, Mrs. Ruth M.Lucia of Chateauguay, and one
grandson, David Robert Pecore of Syracuse New York. Funeral services were held
at the home with burial in St. Patrick Cemetery.
11-17-1949 Eugene Prairie, of New York City, died at his home following a long
illness. He was a native of Chateauguay, having been born here on September the
ninth, 1891, he was son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Prairie. On January 10,
1894, he was united in marriage with Mrs. Mary (Hyland) Fitzgerald. To them was
born one daughter, Marie, now Mrs. Bernard Stanley of Elmhurst Long Island.
Surviving besides his daughter, are several nieces and nephews, children of the
late Dr. and Mrs. C. F. Prairie of Massena, the late Mr. and Mrs. John
Schermerhorn of East Orange NJ, and the late James Hyland, and Mrs. Josie Hyland
of Chateauguay. The remains were brought to the home of his sister-in-law, Mrs.
James Hyland in Chateauguay. The funeral took place at St. Patrick's Church,
service was conducted by the Rev. Ambrose Highland. Interment was in St. Patrick
Cemetery.

11-20-1949 Dr. Jane Octave Langevin,M.V., died at his late residence, 35
Melville Avenue, Westmount, beloved husband of the late Olive Letellier, and
brother of J. Alfred Langevin. It was Dr. Langevin and his late wife, Olive, who
acquired the old Moir Hotel and had the younger brother Alfred officiate as its
manager. It was great effort that made the Huntingdon Chateau a reality. He was
born at Coteau du Lac Quebec, and obtained his veterinarians license from the
University of Montreal in 1909. When he retired in 1943 he was director of the
animal branch of the Dominion Department of Agriculture. He is survived by a
daughter, Mrs. Marcel Jacob of Montreal, three brothers, Joseph, Alfred and
Victor, of Montreal, four sisters, Mrs. Arthur Caron, of Dorian Quebec, Mrs.
E.Letellier, of Peterborough Ontario, Mrs. W. Allen of Montreal, and Mrs. Lucian
Methot of Ste Anne de Bellevue.

after a short illness, in her 85th year. She was the former Eva Langiven, she is

Sr., died at her home in Huntingdon Quebec, age 81 years. She was born Annie
Gertrude Reese in New York, on December the eighth, 1867. She was married in
1895 to the late Mr. Neal Henderson, and 36 years ago she and her family moved
to Huntingdon. Mr. Henderson died four years ago. Surviving are her two sons,
Mr. Neal Henderson of Huntingdon, and Dr. D. G. Henderson of Canton OH, five
grandchildren. Funeral services were held at her home on Monday, service
conducted by the Rev. R. D. McLean, assisted by the Rev. J. D. McLean. Mrs.
Henderson was buried at the Georgetown Church Cemetery.

11-24-1949 Philip Ellsworth Smith, passed away at his home in Roxham Quebec, in
his 82nd year. He was one of the oldest residents of the district. He had been
in a wheelchair for the past six years. On April 24, 1895, Mr. Smith was united
in marriage to Maggie Elliott. They lived on the farm until June, 1925, when
they retired and moved to their new home in Roxham. Mrs. Smith predeceased him
on January 24th, 1935. He leaves to mourn, his two daughters, Ruby, Mrs. William
Smith, and Mae, Mrs. Robert W. Akester. Three grandchildren, Edward, Maud, and
Elsie Akester. One sister, Mrs. Hattie Keddy of Perrys Mills New York. One niece

12-xx-1949 Raymond Petrie, beloved husband of Laura Casgoyne, and son of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Petrie, died suddenly at Montreal Quebec. Interment in the
North Georgetown Cemetery.
12-26-1949 Alice Taylor, (nee McNarlene) died at the home of her daughter, Mr.
and Mrs. William R. Simpson in Rockburn Quebec, age 80 Years, wife of the late
Edwin Taylor of New Erin.Que Mrs. Taylor was twice married, her first husband
was Mr. James Helm of New Erin Quebec, and to their union six children were
born, one daughter, Mrs. William Simpson, and four sons survivor her. Two of
them, William and Earnest of Toronto, Archie of Montreal and Bryon of Cochran
AB. Her eldest son, Bert, Predeceased her in 1941. They had lived in New York
for upwards of 20 years. Mrs. Taylor had lived in Toronto, Mr. Taylor died in
1940.
01-07-1950 To Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Arthur of Rockburn Quebec, at the Barrie
Memorial Hospital in Ormstown Quebec, a daughter.
