01-05-1951 Jesse MacAlpine MacDonald, wife of Alan K. English, died at Ormstown
Quebec. She was the eldest daughter of the late Archibald and Catherine
MacAlpine MacDonald of Tullochgorum Quebec. She was married in September, 1924
to Alan Keith English. She leaves to mourn, her husband, a daughter, Catherine,
Mrs. Fred Orr, two grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Harold Stubbs of Beebe.
Funeral services were held on Monday in St. Paul's United Church, service
conducted by her pastor, the Rev. C. L. Taylor. Interment was in the Ormstown
Cemetery.
01-02-1951 Mrs. Joseph A. Latulipe of St Anicet Quebec, died at the Hotel Dieu
Hospital in Valleyfield Quebec, in her 69th year. The late Mrs. Latulipe,
formerly Miss Angele Quenneville was born at St Anicet Quebec, on July 1st,
1882, daughter of the late Eloie Quenneville and his wife, the late Mary Doyle.
In 1910 she was united in marriage to Joseph A. Latulipe, who predeceased her in
1939, and to this union were born three sons, Anicet, Ernest and Jean-Charles.
She leaves to mourn, Besides her three sons, one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ernest
Latulipe (Olive Trepanier), two grandchildren, Madeline and Alfred Latulipe's,
four sisters, Anna, Mrs. Oscar Dupuis, Elizabeth, Mrs. J. H. A. Quenneville,
Elaine, Mrs. Grant Scott, and Miss Florestine Quenneville, four brothers, John
of the Beaver, Angus of Dundee, Joseph and Abe of Penn Yan, New York, three
sisters in laws, Mrs. Anna Latulipe, R.N. of Montreal, Rev. Sister Elie-Anicet,
of Kirkland Lake Ontario, Rev. Sister Jean du Sauveur of Tingwick, and 1 brother
and law, Mr. Alfonse Latulipe of Fort Covington New York. Funeral services were
held in the St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church on January 04, service conducted by
the Rev. Father Deguire, parish priest. Interment at St. Agnes Roman Catholic
Cemetery.
01-06-1951 Joseph Rene Lefebvre, beloved husband of Lilly Robidoux, died
suddenly and his home in Huntingdon Quebec, age 46 years. He was the son of the
late Joseph Lefebvre and of Mrs. A. Girard. He was born at St. St Stanislas de
Kostka on June 20th, 1904, and married Lilly Robidoux of Huntingdon and in
November, 1936. He leaves to mourn, his wife, his mother, Mrs. A. Girard, his
brother Albert, and his three children, two sisters, Mrs. Dora Leger and her
three daughters, Mrs. Lucianne Bourcier with three daughters. Uncles and Aunts,
Mrs. Francoeur of Ormstown, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rabideau of Dewittville Quebec,
and Mrs. Frank Allard of Huntingdon. Funeral services were held in St. Joseph's
Church, service conducted by the Rev. Father A. Pigeon.
01-08-1951 Edwin M. W. Knox, beloved husband of Grace C. Mcfarland and of the
late May Brown, died suddenly and his late residents in Howick Quebec, in his
61st year. He was born on the farm on which he resided, being the son of the
late Matthew Knox. He leaves to mourn, his widow, the former Grace C. McFarland,
and Ivan, his son of his first marriage to May Brown. Funeral services were held
at his late residents on Wednesday at 2 p.m., service conducted by the Rev. W.
A. Edwards of the Howick United Church and several other ministers. Interment
was at the Riverfield Cemetery.
01-07-1951 Ann McDonald, of Trout River,daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter
McDonald of Huntingdon Quebec, died at the Montreal General Hospital. Miss
MacDonald was born in Fyvie, Scotland, on September 24th, 1867. The deceased
came to this country with her parents and other members of their family when she
was only eight years old, and has resided here practically all the years since
that time. A little over two months ago, the late Miss MacDonald was admitted to
the Montreal General Hospital, where she remained until the time of her death.
Funeral services were held from her late residents to the home of Mr. and Mrs.
J. R. MacDonald, on Tuesday afternoon, January the ninth, at 2 o'clock. Mr.
Howard Grace, student Minister of the Elgin Presbyterian Church gave the
address. Interment was in the Elgin Cemetery.
12-06-1950 Janet Brody Ness, eldest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Ness of Woodside Farm, Howick Quebec, and a widow of the late Alexander
McIntosh, died at Edmonton AB, in her 86 year. She is survived by three sons, R.
Bruce of Calgary AB, William A. of New York, and George N. of Bassano AB. Three
daughters, Mrs. J. A. McDonald and Mrs. W. J. Turner, of Edmonton AB, and Mrs.
H. O. Wilson of Innisfail AB, five brothers, R.R. Ness of Howick Quebec, Dr. J.
A. Ness of Auburn Maine, David Ness of Howick Quebec, Rowland Ness of Vancouver
BC and Alexander Ness of McDonald College in Quebec. Two sisters, Mrs. R. B.
Anderson of Toronto Ontario, and Mrs. J. R. Bass of Wilton Maine, 13
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on
Saturday afternoon at the Howard and McBride Chapel. Wing Commander, the Rev.
James Dunn officiated. Interment in the family lot in the Edmonton Cemetery.
01-09-1951 Ellen Agnes Dineen, wife of the late John E. Ouimet, died at the
residents of her daughter, Mrs. A. Sabourin, in Valleyfield Quebec, age 74
year's 05 Months. Her remains are resting at the Laurin Funeral Parlors in
Valleyfield Quebec. She leaves to mourn, one son,Linus, one daughter,
Marguerite, Mrs. Arthur Sabourin, 1 brother, Mr. Patrick Dineen, a son-in-law,
Mr. Arthur Sabourin, a daughter-in-law, Mrs.Linus Ouimet, (Leah Meilleur), two
grandchildren, Romeo and Dian Sabourin, four brothers in laws, Edmund Ouimet,

12-26-1950 Martha Williams, wife of Fred Williams, formerly of Chateauguay New
York, died at the Physicians Hospital, in Scottsburg New York, age 85 years.
Burial at Chateauguay New York.
12-28-1950 Mrs. Joseph Jackson, passed away suddenly at her home, she was born
at Stockwell, 81 years ago and was the former Sarah Carson. The deceased was
married to John H. Stevenson and to this union were born four daughter's and two
sons, Muriel, Mrs. Alpha Briscoe of Haverhill Massachusetts, Mina, Mrs. Donald
Graham of Fort William Ontario, Margaret, Mrs. Archie Gamble of Franklin Center
Quebec, Lorena, Mrs. Elmer Siemens of Lowell Massachusetts, Harold of Franklin
Center and James of Fibre, Michigan. Her former husband died in March, 1918. She
was married in August, 1936, to Joseph Jackson of Corbin Quebec, who predeceased
her May, 1947. Besides her children there is 17 grandchildren, 12
great-grandchildren, and 1 brother, John Carson of Stockwell. Funeral services
were held from the old home to the Zion United Church on Sunday December 31st,
service conducted by her pastor, the Rev. E. Davis. There the remains were laid
to rest in the Bethel Cemetery.

Chateauguay New York, by the Rev. Mr. Askin.
01-09-1951 James Arnold, died at his home in Aubrey Corners, Dundee Quebec, in
his 88th year. The deceased was born of Irish parentage at Arnold's Corners on
March the 8th, 1863, son of the late William Arnold and his wife, Sarah Stowell.
Later he married Elizabeth Sanderson who predeceased him in 1918. His entire
life was spent as a farmer. The deceased leaves to mourn, his three sons, Robert
and William of Arnold's Corners Quebec, and Thomas of Athelstan Quebec, also a
number of grandchildren. Funeral services were held from the Zion Church,
service conducted by her the Rev. A. E. Hager. Interment was in the Zion Church
Cemetery.
01-17-1951 Janet (Jennie) Lamb Tannahill, wife of Archie W. Caldwell, and
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hugh S. Tannahill. Died at the Chenango
Memorial General Hospital in Norwich New York, age 60 years. She was born
September 21, 1890, at Huntingdon Quebec, daughter of Hugh S. and Catherine
McComb Tannahill. On December 24, 1913, she was united in marriage with Archie
W. Caldwell. They moved to the United States in 1924 and made their home at
Fishkill. From 1929 through 1936, they operate a grocery store and service
station at Augusta New Jersey, moving to McDonough in 1936, they operated a farm
until 1945. Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Hugh W.
Caldwell, and John F. Caldwell of Norwich New York, and Wilford A. Caldwell of
Atlanta GA, three daughters, Marguerite Ann Caldwell of Norwich, Mrs. John
Madden of New York, Mrs. Gerald Golding of Clay New York, and Mrs. Donald G.
Craig, of Sandy Lake Pennsylvania. One sister, Mrs. John A. Caldwell of
Huntingdon Quebec, two brothers, William G. Tannahill of Huntingdon, and
Westlake Tannahill of Roseville Michigan, also four grandchildren. Funeral
services were held at the Robert J. Fahy Funeral Home, service conducted by the
Rev. Thomas G. Swales. Interment will take place in the Mount Hope Cemetery.

12-03-1950 Mr. W. H. McClelland of Bury, late of the Riverfield and Howick
Quebec, died in the Queen Mary's Veterans Hospital in Montreal Quebec.
01-09-1951 Herbert A. Stevens, beloved husband of Janet Heath, and father of
Margaret, Mrs. Harold Loke, and James, died at Beauharnois Quebec, age 59 years.
01-12-1951 Mrs. Frederick Walker, formerly of Robson Quebec, died at the Vilas
Home, in Plattsburgh New York, in her 77th year. She was born and raised on the
farm now owned by Mr. L'Esperance. Later she married Mr. Frederick Walker who
lived on the American side, about a mile from her old home. Mr. Walker passed
away a few years ago. After his death, the deceased sold her farm and move to
Mooers Forks New York, until July, when she moved to the home in Plattsburgh New
York. She's leaves, one brother, Mr. William Kearns of Newberg, two sister in
laws, Mrs. Julius Kearns of Moore's New York, and Mrs. Whiteside Kearns, a
nephew and three nieces. Funeral services were held in the Methodist Church in
Moore's New York, Interment at the Walker's Cemetery.

Loomis, of Greenfield MA, and Ralph S. Loomis of Amherst MA, four grandchildren
and four great-grandchildren, and one cousin, Mrs. George Douglas of Chateauguay
New York. Funeral services were held in Greenfield MA, with burial in the
Elmgrove Cemetery, Montague MA.
01-20-1951 Albert Cairns, died at the home of his youngest daughter, Marguerite,
Mrs. Loyal Lewis in Athelstan Québec, in his 84th year. His first wife, Jenny
Brown, and their two children, LC and Arthur, also his second wife, Rebecca
Henderson, predeceased him several years ago. He leaves to mourn, two
daughter's, Irene, Mrs. Earle Gardner of Messina New York, and Marguerite, Mrs.
Loyal Lewis, also four grandchildren. Funeral services were held in the
Presbyterian Church on Tuesday afternoon, service conduct by the Rev. Thomas
Knoll's of the Huntingdon United Church. Burial took place in the family lot in
the Athelstan Cemetery.

12-23-1950 William Thomas Harrigan, formerly of Montreal Québec, died in San
Leandro CA.
01-11-1951 Joseph Edwin Weaver, formerly of the RAF Transport command in Dorval
Québec, died at the Sunnybrook Military Hospital in Toronto ON, he was the
beloved husband of Virginia O'Connor. Mr. Weaver was born in Fleming,
Saskatchewan, on November the eighth, 1912, later he moved to Brantford ON.
Besides his wife, the former Virginia O'Connor, of Huntingdon Québec, he is
survived by his father, F. E. Weaver of Brantford ON, two sisters and two
brothers, Mrs. Marley Abrams of Rut Mountain, Saskatchewan, Mrs. R. G. Baker of
Cooksville ON, Mr. Russell Weaver and Mr. Robert Weaver, both of Brantford ON.
Funeral services were held from the chapel of Wright and Taylor, in Richmond
Hill ON, Interment was in the Richmond Hill Cemetery.

and daughter of the late David Johnston and his wife Margaret Anderson Johnston
of Athelstan Québec, died at the Trenton Hospital in Trenton MI. Interment in
Geneseo Illinois. In 1903, she married Edward Johnson and lived all her married
life in the town. To their union, three children were born, Margaret, Mrs.
Siegel of Trenton MI, Irma, Mrs. Kugel, who predeceased her, and Edward, of
Burlington IA. Following her husband's death in 1939, she sold her home and has
since lived with her daughter in Trenton, or with her son in IA. There are four
grandchildren, she is also survived by one brother and three sisters, David of
Annandale NJ, Phoebe, Mrs. Robert Bayard of Glenelm Québec, Annie, and Mary of
Montreal. Funeral services were held in Atkinson Illinois, and Interment was in
the family lot in her Geneseo, Illinois.

of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Waldie of Athelstan Québec, died at her late
residents in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

husband of Rose Eva Marcil, age 62 years. He leaves his aged mother who resided
with him, Mrs. Felix Machabee, (Amanda) Marcil, his six sons, Damien, Felix,
Marcel, Guy, J. Lewis and Roger, his daughters, Mrs. Maurice Patenaude, M.
Jeanne Paul Quenneville, Gertrude, Cecile, Florence, Raymonde, Marie Claire, and
Sister Roger Marie, (Gisell), of the Sisters of Jesus and Mary. Besides his sons
and daughters above mentioned, he leaves one sister, Mrs. Claire Machabee, one

service conducted by the Rev. Father Quenneville of Huntingdon.

late Anna McRae, died at Franklin Center Québec, age 84 year's. Interment in the
Riverfield Cemetery.
(not dated) George Lamb,who hauled freight with Oxen from Moose Jaw to Saskatoon
during the Riel Rebellion in 1885, died here recently at the age of 89 years.

Interred in Ormstown Québec. She was mother of Mr. Joseph H. Parent of
Chateauguay, and formerly of Fort Covington New York. Besides her son and
daughter in Chateauguay, she also leaves four sons, Albert, Charles, Tommy and
Gerald, all of Ormstown Québec. Funeral services were held in the Roman Catholic
Church in Ormstown Québec, service conducted by the Rev. Father Deguire.

02-05-1951 Celia Florence McWhinnie, beloved wife of D. A. Barrington, died
suddenly at Ormstown Quebec, age 62 years, resting at her late residents. Mr.
and Mrs. Barrington were married on September 27, 1911, and had resided in
Ormstown since that time. During the late autumn Mrs. Barrington had suffered
from a heart ailment and was confined to bed for a period of time. She had
seemingly recovered from this attack and was rapidly convalescing, her death
came as a great shock to her family and friends. She will be sadly missed in her
home where her hospitality was frequently extended to members and organizations
of this community. Mrs. Barrington was very active in many circles. She was a
member of the Rebecca Lodge for 27 years, past president of the Rebecca assembly
of the Provence of Québec and in 1949 represented the Rebecca Lodge of Québec at
the American Rebecca assembly in Sacramento CA. She was also active in Church
organizations and at the time of her passing was president of the Women's
missionary society auxiliary of the Ormstown Presbyterian Church. She had served
as president of the Ormstown Women's Institute and on various committees of the
Ormstown Lady Curlers and Bowling clubs, and was a member of the order of the
Eastern Star. During World War II she took an active interest in the welfare of
the local servicemen. She leaves to mourn, her husband, six sons, Ivan, Garnet,
Clifford, Mervyn, Merrill and Alton, one daughter, Verna, Mrs. Ross Winter, six
daughters-in-law, one son-in-law and 20 grandchildren. Funeral services were
held on Thursday afternoon at the Ormstown Presbyterian Church, service
conducted by the Rev. Randolph McLean, of Huntingdon Québec, assisted by the
Rev. W. C. Paine and Rev. C. L. Taylor.

Chrysostome Quebec, age 61 year's. Besides her son Wilfred, at home, she leaves

other son, Louis, two brothers, Louis and Gonzaque Primeau, two sisters, Mrs.
Alphonse Dagenais and Mrs. Honore Lussier. One daughter-in-law, Mrs. Louis
Boucher, (Therese Demers), two son in laws, Delma Gervais, and Girard Laberge,
three grandchildren, Fleurette Gervais, Guy and Claude Boucher. Remains resting
at the home of her son Wilfred, service conducted by the Father P. E. Julien.
Burial took place in the family plot at the Roman Catholic Cemetery.

residence of his daughter, Mrs. Thomas Sproule in Ormstown Quebec, age 79 years.
He leaves to mourn, three daughter's and three sons, all of this vicinity, Mrs.

Galt ON, (Mary W. Gourley), her husband was a native of Delry Scotland, who came
to this country as a young man. Surviving are two daughters, both of them
married, one to Mr. L. M. Strachan of Montreal, and the other to Dr. Barkley of
Golden British Columbia, a native of that province who took his medical course
in McGill. Mrs. Kirk was the last of that happy family to survive, her husband

Bridgeport VT, died the second day following her brothers death. Mr. Waddell was
the eldest son of Alexander Waddell and his wife, Catherine Miller. He spent his
life in Havelock Township, except for 3 and 1/2 years, employed at McDonald
College, after which he became proprietor of the Covey Hill general store. Later
he moved to the farm where he passed his remaining years. Funeral services were

03-07-1951 Ward McLean, of Huntingdon Québec, beloved husband of the late Grace
E. Rankin, died in Montreal Québec, in his 71st year. Mr. McLean was born Nov.
10th, 1880, he was son of the late John McLean and Matilda Kelly, his entire
life was spent on the Homestead, where he took an interest in the welfare of the
community, and as such was a member of Godmanchester Council for several years.
On June 30th, 1909, Mr. McLean was united in marriage with Grace Elizabeth
Rankin of New Erin Quebec, whose death occurred less than three weeks previous.
This happy union for over 40 years was blessed with four daughters and two sons,
who survive, Bertha, Gladys, Mrs. D. A. Johnston, Mabel, Mrs. H. J. McLean of
Montreal, Elsie, Mrs. L. Sherry of New Erin, Ross, Royal Canadian Air Force, St.
Hubert Quebec, Howard at home, also to brother's, Harold, manager of the
Fry-Cadbury Co., and Gordon, Merchant, both of Huntingdon, and an only sister,
Mrs. John Goodfellow, died in April 1948. Funeral services took place on
Saturday March the 10th, at the United Church in Huntingdon Quebec, service
conducted by the Rev. Thomas Knowles, assisted by the Rev. W. S. Hatcher. Burial

late residence in Huntingdon Québec, in his 84th year. He was born April 07,
1867, youngest son of the late Thomas W. Stark and his wife, Jane Forbis. He
spent his entire life on the Trout River farm excepting for a few years which he
spent working at the carpenter trade. He is survived by his wife, formerly
Janette H. Rennie, also two daughters, and one son, Mrs. W. A. Arthur of
Huntingdon, Mrs. Charles C. Fraser of Dundee, and Clarence on the home farm,
also four grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Thomas

21, 1885, the daughter of Alexander and Catherine Miller Waddell. She is
survived by her husband and two daughters, Mrs. William Bentsen of Woodbridge
NJ, and Mrs. Annie Hilturen of Bridgeport VT, one brother, Stanley Waddell of
Havelock Québec, and three grandchildren, Anne, William and Robert Bentsen, two
aunts, Mrs. Edward Cowan of Hemmingford and Mrs. Charles Herrington of
Burlington VT. Her first husband was Harry P. Edwards of Covey Hill Québec, who
died on February 10, 1939. She married Herbert R. Palmer of Bridgeport VT in
1942. Mrs. Palmer was a member of the West Anniston Methodist Church and of the
Morning Sun Chapter No. 26 OES. Funeral services were held in the Bridgeport
Congregational Church, service conducted by the Rev. Rutherford Moore of the
Vergennes Methodist Church, burial was in the Bridgeport Central Cemetery.

03-10-1951 Ellen Howe, wife of the late Henry S. Barr, and sister of the late
Robert Howe, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Hayes, in Athens ON.
Age 88 years. She was formerly Ellen Howe, a daughter of the late John Howe, and
his late wife, the former Rose Ann Black, she was born near Huntingdon Quebec,
on January the 14th, 1863. Spending her early life in the district of
Huntingdon, and on July 12, 1893 she was united in marriage to Henry S. Barr.
They took a residents at Fairfield East, where her husband passed away on July
10, 1912. The late Mrs. Barr was well-known and highly respected in this
district, and was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Fairfield. Eleven years
ago she came to Athens to reside with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs.
Lloyd Hayes, and her kindly presence will be greatly missed in the home and the
community. She leaves to mourn, one son, Charles H. Barr of Brockville ON, and
one daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Hayes. There are also two grandchildren, Leland Hayes
and Mrs. George Standen of Athens, two great-grandchildren, Shirley Standen and
Earl Standen of Athens. She was predeceased by three brothers, Robert Howe, John
Howe and James Howe, and three sisters, Mrs. Martha Boyd, Mrs. Isabella
Tackaberry and Mrs. Annie Gamble. Interment was in the Oakland Cemetery in
Brockville ON.

in 1910 and married Mr. S. E. Fennell, of Rowland that same year. She is
survived by one stepdaughter, Mrs. Nelson Langtry, of Homewood, three stepsons,
Ernest L., William F., of Winnebago, and L. Raymond of Fort Garry, also 9
grandchildren. A twin brother, Levi Kelly, predeceased her earlier this month in
Huntingdon. Funeral services from the United Church, service conducted by the

residence, age 67 years. She was one of the family of 7 daughter's and 3 sons,
was born on the Australia Concession, Howick Québec, a daughter of the late
Matthew and Martha McGregor McKell, and was married on December 22nd, 1920, to
John Greig, she was a member of the Howick United Church and her husband an
elder. She leaves to mourn, her husband and one son, Willard, one sister,
Gladys, Mrs. Scott Fraser of Lancaster ON, and three brothers, Edgar, Hiram and
Arnold, all of Howick Québec. Funeral services from the Howick United Church,
services were conducted by her Pastor, the Rev. C. Edward's, assisted by a
former Pastor, Rev. Donald Morrison of Chateauguay Basin Quebec. Interment at
Riverfield Quebec.

age 84 years. She was a native of Hemmingford Quebec, had been a resident of
Claremont for the past 35 years. She was born September 30th, 1865, daughter of
Henry and Eliza (Lucas) Gordon. On December 7, 1892, she married Thomas I.Orr,
in Hemmingford Quebec, where they lived until 1916. Mr. Orr died in 1931. Two
sons and a daughter were born to this union, William A, who died in March 1932,
and H. Harold and Mrs. Kearns Gilbert of Claremont NH, there were five
grandchildren, Gordon B. Orr, of St. Lambert Quebec, J. Park Gilbert of
Claremont NH, Mrs. Margaret Rivenburg, of Coral Gables FL, Miss Mabel Orr of St.
Lambert Quebec, and Mrs. Peter Elkins of Concorde, two great-grandchildren,
Peter and Deborah Elkins of Concorde. Funeral services were held on Tuesday
afternoon, March 20th, at the Stouton Funeral Home, service was conducted by the
Rev. Forrest C. Higgins of the Congregational Church. Interment was in the
Mountain View Cemetery.

16, 1912, she married Kaye C. Orr, who died in 1930. She is survived by a
daughter, Rosamond O. Gill, several cousins and other distant relatives. The
late Mr. K. C. Orr was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Orr, and was born

1914. She was an active member of the Georgetown Presbyterian Church, also a
life member of the woman's missionary society, and for many years a teacher in
the Sunday school. She leaves to mourn, her mother, one son, Raymond, and four
daughters, Martha, Mrs. Malcolm McIntyre, Ida, Mrs. Merrill Kerr, Olive, Mrs.
Chauncey Barter, Mabel, Mrs. Erwin Orr, also nine grandchildren. Funeral
services were held in the Georgetown Presbyterian Church.

Franklin Center Québec, and resided there when she married Alex Smith in 1884,
also a resident of Franklin, and who died in 1929. In 1936 she married Charles
E. Lavery who passed away in 1942. She left no children. Mrs. Lavery is survived
by cousins, Alpheus Rowe of Franklin, France's French of Plattsburgh NY, and
Anna S. Rowe of Foxborough MA. Also two nephews, Ralph Smith of Warrensburg,
Charles Thompson of East Troy, Wisconsin, two nieces, Miss Jesse E. Smith of
Glens Falls, and Mrs. Ora Seefeld of Aleda, Illinois. Funeral services were
conducted at her home, by the Rev. Robert Heron, Rector of the Episcopal Church
in Warrensburg. Interment was in Warrensburg Cemetery.
04-20-1951 Andrew Arthur Miller, a former resident of Dundee Québec, died at
Syracuse NY, age 74 years. He was the last to survive in the family of William
Miller and Martha Aubrey of Dundee. Mr. Miller was employed at the Chrysler

Noel, William, Burton and Raymond, one daughter, Ethel, Mrs. Stanley Murdoch
predeceased her father. The body was brought from Syracuse to Dundee, where the
Rev. A. E. Hager conducted a funeral service. Burial was in the Zion Church

September 14th, 1893, predeceased him about three years ago. A retired farmer,
Mr. Leblanc had lived at St. Agnes for 55 years, moving there from St Anicet.
Surviving are five daughters and two sons, Mrs. J. E. Caza, Mrs. Laurent Dupuis,
Mrs. Donat Collette, Mrs. Fred Gardner, Mrs. Lucian Leduc, Emory Leblanc and
Edmund Leblanc, three brothers and one sister, Samuel, Alfred and Alex Leblanc,

06-18-1951 Beatrice Donnelly, wife of the late Floyd Parker, died at her home in
Rome New York, age 73 years. She was born in Elgin Township Quebec, on March 11,
1878. Graduating from the Huntingdon Academy and a school in Thorne ON, and
Granby Quebec. On October 7th, 1898, she was married to Floyd Parker and resided
in Dundee until 1917, when they moved to Bombay NY. In 1939 she moved to Rome,
where she has since resided. Surviving are two sons, Vance of Route 2,Rome New
York, and Gerald, two daughters, Luella of Rome New York, and Mrs. Bird Perry of
Rensselaer Falls, one sister, Mrs. John Helm of Glenelm Quebec, seven
grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
06-19-1951 Mrs. Miles Towns, (Ella Mannagh), formerly of Franklin Center Quebec,
died suddenly at her home on Wellington Street in Huntingdon Quebec, age 79
year's.
Mrs. Townes was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Mannagh of Havelock
Quebec. She lived over 50 years of her life at Maple View Farm, Franklin Center
Quebec. The last six years being spent at Huntingdon. It was on June 6 that she
celebrated her 57th wedding anniversary. She was the mother of three children,
who predeceased her several years ago. She is survived by her husband, and five
brothers, John, James, Oswald, Osborne, Wilmer, all of Havelock Quebec, and one
niece, Mrs. Doris Tedstone of Huntingdon, also two nephews, Harry O'Neill of
Vancouver BC, and Oswald Mannagh of Havelock. She was predeceased by two
sisters, Mrs. Leslie Stevenson of Havelock and Mrs. William O'Neill of Edmonton
AB, and one brother, Thomas of Schenectady NY. Funeral services were held in the
United Church in Huntingdon Quebec, service conducted by the Rev. Thomas
Knowles, assisted by the Rev. W. Hatcher, and Rev. W. T. Payne. Interment took
place at Hillside Cemetery, Rockburn Quebec.

(Not dated) Mrs. William H. Young, one of the oldest and most honored citizens
of Ormstown, passed away last week in the person of (Sarah Baird), in her 94th
year. She was born and raised near St. Louis Quebec, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
William Baird, and after completing her school course, taught school for a few
years. In 1881, she was married to Mr. William Young at St. Louis. In 1910 they
moved into Ormstown where she immediately identified herself with the various
phases of the community life. She will be missed by her adopted daughter,
Lillian Kershaw, a number of nephews and nieces, and a host of friends. Funeral
services were held in St. Paul's Church on June 24th, service conducted by the
Rev. C. Leslie Taylor.

Akester, 1 grandnephew, Edward Akester and two grand nieces, Maud Akester and
Elsie Akester, all of Roxham Que, and two nieces and four nephews in California.

07-24-1951 Mr. Duncan Armond Cooper, of 5 Scribner Place, Montpelier VT, died at
the Veterans Hospital in White River Junction, VT, age 59 years. He was born
July 11, 1892, in Huntingdon Quebec, a son of the late James Byrd and Janet
(Bell) Cooper. On November 26, 1925, he was married to Miss May Francis Robbie
of Montpelier, who survives. He also leaves three daughters, France's May, Mrs.
George E. Thompson of North Conway NH, Margaret Nelson, Mrs. Richard Deen, and
Miss Joyce Bird Cooper, both of Gildersleeve CT. Also surviving are two
grandchildren, Edward Thompson of North Conway NH and Virginia Nelson Deen of
Gildersleeve CT, a sister, Mrs. Ethel Cooper Smellie of Huntingdon Quebec, a
brother, Mr. W. Roy Cooper of Montreal, and several nieces and nephews Mr.
Cooper was a member of the Bethany Congregational Church where funeral services

(Not dated) Isabella A. Robertson, died in Nelson BC, after a long illness, she
was wife of David J. Robertson of 305 Victoria Street, Nelson BC. She was born
83 years ago at Riverfield Québec, where she attended school, later completing
her education at McGill Normal school. She went west in the early '80s and
taught school in Regina Saskatchewan, until her marriage in 1897. She and her
husband lived in Sandon for four years. There, two daughters were born. The
eldest, Elizabeth, died in infancy, the other, Bernice Margaret, now Mrs. T. F.
Oxley of Butte MT, was with her mother during the last four weeks. Besides her
husband, daughter and son-in-law, she is survived by three grandchildren, Mrs.
B. H. Alexander, Mrs. J. A. Sibley, and David J. Oxley, and by four
great-grandchildren, as well as by several nieces and nephews. She was a member
of St. Paul's United Church. Four years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Robertson celebrated
their golden wedding anniversary.

all of Havelock Québec, he was predeceased by a brother in Schenectady New York,
and three sisters, Mrs. Miles Towns of Huntingdon, Mrs. Leslie Stevenson of
Havelock Québec, and Mrs. William O'Neill of Edmonton AB. Funeral services were
held in the Covey Hill Presbyterian Church on Wednesday afternoon at 230
o'clock. Interment was in the Union Cemetery.
(Not dated) Marion E. Gamble, wife of Walter J. Oliver, formerly of Chateauguay
New York, and Franklin Center Québec, died at Marblehead MA. The deceased was
born in Franklin Center Québec, but as a young girl moved with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Henry Gamble, to Chateauguay New York. After graduating from college,
she taught school for some time. Later on, she entered business in Boston. She
married Walter J. Oliver of Boston, but moved to Marblehead MA, about 45 years
ago. She and her husband developed quite large real estate holdings. Mrs. Oliver
was a member of the Marblehead chapter of the Eastern star and the Clifton
Lutheran Church. She leaves her husband, a son, Carl E. Oliver, a granddaughter,
Miss Marion E. Oliver of Marblehead, and a brother, J. Henry Gamble of Malone
New York.
08-23-1951 Isaiah Andrew Parker, beloved husband of Emily Elizabeth Inman, died
at Huntingdon Québec. Mr. Parker was born in Toledo Ontario, in 1872, and spent
his early days on his fathers farm. In 1911 he moved to Dundurn, Saskatchewan,
where he was engaged in the farm implement business for many years. In 1919 he
was united in marriage with Emily Elizabeth Inman. In 1932 Mr. and Mrs. Parker
and family moved to Huntingdon Québec. Mr. Parker in later years was in the taxi
business as well as caretaker of the United Church. He is survived by his wife,
a son Claude, three grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Augusta Burroughs of
Montreal, two nieces and three nephews. Funeral services were held in the
Huntingdon United Church on August 25, service conducted by the Rev. Thomas
Knowles.
08-24-1951 Ethel Kerr, beloved wife of William Peddie, died suddenly at her home
in Howick Québec, age 64 years. She was the daughter of the late James Kerr and
Martha McClenaghan. She was born at Allen's Corners Québec, on February 18th,
1887, she was married on June 12th, to William Peddie of Howick Québec, she was
a member of the Georgetown Presbyterian Church. She leaves to mourn, her
husband, one daughter, Mabel, Mrs. William Smith, one son, Basil, and five
grandchildren, also a brother Merrill. Funeral services were held Sunday
afternoon August 26, at the Georgetown Church, service conducted by the Rev.
Brown of Beauharnois Québec. Burial at the Georgetown Cemetery.

after a lengthy illness, in her 68th year. She was born in Ormstown Québec,
daughter of Thomas Paling who operated the Central Hotel in Ormstown for years.
The family moved to Dundas Ontario where she lived for 51 years. She was a music
teacher and had taught many of the town's musicians, and was pianist for a
number of years at the local theater. She was a member of the Primrose Rebecca
Lodge No. 59.for 34 years. Surviving are two brothers, Thomas Edward of Dundas,
and Edrick of Hamilton. Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon from the
Cattel Funeral Home, service conducted by Canon F. Allen Hill. Interment was in
the Grove Cemetery.

09-11-1951 Albert Traverse, beloved husband of Maude Goodfellow, died at his
residence in Herdman Québec, age 78 years. The late Mr. Traverse was born at
Herdman Québec, on April 10, 1873, son of Glyde Traverse and his wife, Martha
Black. After attending the rural school, he chose the butter and cheese business
as his career. On January 31st, 1991, he was united in marriage to Maude
Goodfellow. He leaves to mourn, his wife, one son, Otis, daughter-in-law, Greta,
grandchildren, June and Bill, two sisters, Martha, Mrs. William Porter of Burke
New York, Alvira, Mrs. Sinclair Brodie of Lowell Massachusetts, many nieces and
nephews, four brothers and one sister, Cynthia, predeceased him some years ago.
Funeral services will be held from his late residence on Friday September 14, at
2 p.m. service conducted by the Rev. T. Knowles. Interment in the Hillside
Cemetery, Hinchinbrooke Québec.

09-08-1951 Mrs. Thomas McArdle, beloved wife of the late Thomas McArdle of
Chateauguay New York, died at the Lucy Nursing Home, in Malone New York. Mrs.
McArdle maiden name was Jenny Calnon, and she was born in Chateauguay, a
daughter of the late Dennis and Elizabeth (Ryan) Calnon. In 1892, she was united
in marriage to Thomas McArdle. The couple resided on a farm in the Southwest
part of the town. His death occurred on October 25, 1941. She is survived by six
nieces and one nephew, Mrs. Anna Ferguson of Yonkers, Mrs. John Toohill of
Chateauguay, Ursula Calnon of Leadville CO, Miss Margaret McArdle, of West New
York, New Jersey, Mrs. Albert J. Kahney of Princeton New Jersey, Mrs. Alton
Durkee of Churubusco New York, and Henry McArdle of Chateauguay. Funeral
services were held at St. Patrick's Church, and Interment took place in St.
Patrick's Cemetery.
