These Huntington County Volunteer
Militia Paylists have been kindly transcribed and provided by Gina Smith from
microfilms located in the National Archives of Canada in Ottawa. While pay
lists are available for a range of dates, Gina chose November 1838 because this
coincidences with the second rebellion that followed the Rebellion of 1837.
For addition information about the Militia
Paylists and for additional pay lists transcribed by Gina Smith, please see the
related page on the Chateauguay County GenWeb called

Pay Lists. For further information about events in Canada during these years,

Rebellions.
Notes about the lists:
A. Some names are followed by an (X). This indicates the person could not sign their name. The document is notated to say 'his mark'.
B. A number in brackets after the name indicates more than one person with the same name in the unit.
